Easy Layers 4-Piece Layer Cake Pans Set, 8-inch, Steel

I have used these 8-inch pans twice now. Both times they were a “piece of cake” to use! I used Pam to grease the pans as well as baking parchment paper which also got a light spray. One standard cake mix fills four pans. I used a slightly heaping cup of batter for each pan, which was just perfect! Because I wanted five layers, rainbow colored, for my unicorn cake, I had to make another cake mix but used the extra batter for a dozen cupcakes. I baked the layers at 325 degrees for 12-13 minutes. Cool the cakes about ten minutes in the pans before removing. I am so glad I found these cake pans! They are so much easier to use than slicing a regular layer in half!

Nice little pans! They ARE thin, but accurately posted in the product description. With four layers, they stack better thin, especially if you are adding a filling between layers. I tried thinly sliced strawberries and the layers held up nicely to settling and cutting. The pans are of good, non-stick quality and nest neatly into each other for minimal storage space. Wilton makes a 5 layer pan as well but they are only 6" diameter, these four stacks are 8" which I think is a better, more realistic size. I made a test run cake for my daughter's first birthday (I'm a novice baker at best) and I was pleased at the texture and quality of the cake from these pans. Definitely cut down on the cooking time though. My recipe called for 35-45 minutes and I cooked at 20 minutes and it was perfect...gluten free box cake btw.

Perfect pans for several-layered cakes! Using them is so much easier than cutting the layers with a knife. Measure batter equally in each (about a cup and a quarter) and they thrn out beautifully uniform.

These seem to be fairly good quality pans, and they worked well for a 4 layer cake I recently made from scratch. My problem was how shallow these pans are. It's really pretty ridiculous. They are usable, however. A little trick I've picked up is to line the pans with parchment paper around the edges. You tear enough off so you can line the whole pan using one strip, then fold it a few times so you have a stiff-ish paper. It ends up giving you a little extra room for your cakes to rise. Using that trick made these pans work for my cake, without it I would have had a major mess to clean up. These are good pans, just really shallow.

Used these pans to make 4-6 layer layered cakes and they work great. I would definitely recommend using only 1 cup (a very thin layer) or batter to keep the layers from overflowing and ensuring they are even. I think it would have been helpful to have a volumetric measurement listed on the box for the pans. It took some trial and error for me to get there.

Product is good.. This easy layer seems like a good idea but can easily burn the top. Better off just cut your cake. If you use this, the cake end up being too dry.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with these pans as they were just as expected when it came to ease of baking separate layers. I was a little disappointed with the depth of the layers but I suppose that was my error for not paying more attention when ordering. I ended up using these pans to make a rainbow cake and learned that each pan took only one cup of batter. The layers turned out beautifully even though the height was somewhat lacking; four layers resulted in a 3 inch tall cake but since I used 6 it was about 4.5-5 inches tall. I did use a level but I probably could've gotten away without since these pans baked evenly. I was pleased with how well the cake turned out and how easy it was to make with use of these pans. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to use multiple colors/flavors in one cake.
