$151.99 is the price of two chairs.

Q: Can these possibly adjust down to 24”?

26 inches is the lowest it will go.

Q: If the stool is extended to 31 inches or above is the stool still stable?

Its a very sturdy chair and we love them. I think the answer to your question is in weight and age. Children may be able to tip a chair but with this model, I believe that would be unlikely unless the child was strong and heavy. PS I weigh 280.

Q: Is the wooden seat removable so that I can strip, stain and reseal to match my cabinets? I see in the description they are real wood.

Yes I believe it is. There are four bolts holding the barstool seat on to the barstool it self. They can easily be removed with an Allen wrench.
