Bought for my nephews Christmas gift. He is really into gem mining and stones. This was a fun gift that kept him busy!

Great fun!

I really thought this was going to be slightly harder kinetic-sand texture. This was hard work! Kept my nephews and family busy for hours! We broke some of the tools it came with and used some of our own perhaps not being as patient as we could have been. The gems were great size and quality and overall such a great experience. The value of the gems and bonus for small workout and entertainment was great. I do recommend doing this outside, it created a foggy cloud and sand/flour like dust. It didn’t smell and easily washed off but I don’t think I would want it in my own living room.

It's a really cool and fun gift but they tools they give you aren't strong enough. It's literally a stone pyramid that you have to break to get the artifacts. Definitely do it outside as it's very dusty.

Cool kit! Unique looking, colorful, and fun. Sparked my kids’ imaginations (8yo, 4yo) and kept their interest.

I purchased this for my 13 year-old as we are studying ancient Egypt in history class. It was a fun end of unit activity. He was excited to do it. However, we quickly realized that the wooden hammer that was provided was more like a cheap toy and wouldn’t stay together and wasn’t nearly sturdy enough to do the job. Then the next problem we ran into was several of the pieces came out broken. This is surely due to the fact that we had to use sturdier tools to excavate. But overall, it was a good size and kept him busy for an hour.
