Hi will this work sturdy for puppy to stop trying to rip the fabric again. I what too get this.

Puppy can rip right through, it's just fabric put on the bottom of your mattress box spring. My cats ripped mine so I replaced it and am now using the space under my bed as storage so they can't get under the bed anymore.

Does the king cover a split boxspring ?

The cover can be cut to specific needs. So a long as the dimensions are correct for a king size, you should be good to go.

I see lots of people purchased this as a result of cats. Can anyone attest that this product is strong enough to keep them out?

We are getting a replacement cloth because the cats found a hole and try to live in it. My solution is to take a bunch of stuffing similar to what you find in pillows and cram it in the box spring then patch up the fabric. IF they do decide to tear a hole in it on their own they are met with a pile of fluff they can't really maneuver in.
