I broke my neck aged 19 and as a result I'm paralysed from the chest down. Due to the fact I'm in a wheelchair and not active, my bowels started to become very sluggish a few years after my accident. I found i needed to be permanently on laxatives, which I got from my doctor for many years. But ten years ago I started to get severe pain in my hips and thighs and had to go on morphine patches which resulted in severe constipation. My usual laxatives weren't softening my stools enough so I looked online and discovered Dulcosoft liquid which worked immediately and I never got constipated again. But a couple of years ago the liquid suddenly became hard to find and if I did find it, it was really expensive. So I thought I'd try these Dulcoease capsules as I'd read good reviews on them. I started off on two a night but after a week nothing happened, so I started increasing them every night until eventually I found taking ten or twelve of them every night worked for me. I know I'm an exception and that many capsules will have extreme results on anyone else. But I've tried a lot of laxatives and most have had no effect on me, so I was relieved they worked. But three months ago I discovered Dulcosoft sachets of powder and it's much better than these capsules. I only have to take two sachets a night to keep me regular. I will still recommend these capsules as I'm sure most people will only have to take the recommended dose for them to work.
