Review: Came very quickly and it’s great, but it wasn’t wrapped so book is a little bit damaged 😔 Review: Damon and Winter are my favorite for real, there story, there connection, there relationship, my heart was so so so so so full at the end of the book. How happy it made me to finally have the story about Damon and seeing him getting his happy life, family and the love he deserves. And the way Damon loves Winter I would kill for that kind of love ugh 🥹

Let me start with the most important thing: the book came wrapped. After the trauma of ordering my first Devil’s Night book and it arriving damaged because it wasn’t wrapped, this delivery was honestly healing. Whoever wrapped this one… thank you. Truly. Because of that, it arrived in absolutely perfect condition. No dents, no scratches, no bent corners, nothing. Just a stunning, flawless book. Now, onto the actual story.I haven’t started the Devil’s Night series yet because I’m still collecting all of them, but I already know Penelope Douglas never misses. Her dark romance is unhinged in the best way, and this book is already giving obsession, vengeance, psychological warfare, and the exact kind of toxic intensity that makes dark romance dark romance. So yes, this is another solid five stars from me — partly because it arrived in perfect condition, but mostly because I just know I’m about to be emotionally wrecked in the best way. WHO I RECOMMEND IT FOR: This book is perfect for readers who love: Dark romance with actual darkness Villain love interests (the “I’d burn the world down for you” type) Possessive, morally grey FMC + MMC dynamics High tension, psychological push-and-pull Stories with obsession, vengeance, and power games Penelope Douglas fans who know exactly how crazy her worlds get Anyone who likes their romance messy, intense, and impossible to put down If “soft boy romance” isn’t enough for you and you want the kind of book that grabs your soul and chews it, this is the one.

“Don’t let me go,” he whispered in my ear. “Don’t let go.” “I’m gonna…” My mouth was so dry. “I’m gonna send you to jail.” His lips rested against my cheek, and I thought I felt his body shake with a silent sob. But as I fell into sleep and oblivion, his words were sharp and clear in my ear. “Then you better hope I never get out.” Penelope Douglas is the queen of morally grey characters, and Kill Switch proves that no one does it quite like her. Damien? He doesn’t just walk the line between right and wrong—he practically dances on it. He’s dark, unpredictable, and I’m pretty sure the man lives in a whole different moral universe than the rest of us. But that's what makes him so utterly captivating. You can't help but be drawn to him, even as you know he's not exactly the guy you’re supposed to root for. It’s that complexity that makes his character so good. If you’re tired of the perfect, flawless heroines who say everything with profound wisdom and always have it together, then Penelope Douglas is a breath of fresh air. Her heroines are real - flawed, messy, and utterly human. The FMC in Kill Switch is no exception. Winter’s not here to be anyone’s ideal, and thank goodness for that. She’s complicated, she makes mistakes, and it makes for such a refreshing and engaging reading experience. You’ll find yourself rooting for her even when she doesn’t have it all figured out - and honestly, it’s a far more interesting ride because of it. Kill Switch is an intense read, there were moments where I had to literally hold the book a foot away from my face just to get some emotional distance, but even then, I couldn’t stop devouring it. The tension is palpable, the stakes are high, and the emotional intensity kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Penelope Douglas has such a knack for creating suspense and heat in a way that keeps you hooked, even when you need a breather from the emotional chaos. Honestly, this book is one of those that’s going to stick with me. I can already tell this entire series is going to be one I re-read time and time again, because every time I pick it up, I find something new to love. If you’re looking for a dark, intense, and utterly captivating read, Kill Switch is your next obsession.
