Redundant power cable - wasteful.
I purchased the EvoCharge Level 2 EV Charger with EvoReel 22ft Retractable Cable with 3ft Interconnect Cable as pictured and sold on Amazon. The EvoReel mounting bracket is very heavy duty, commercial quality, and the cord and reel are well-made as well. The retractable cable works smoothly. Customer support from the EvoCharge company was outstanding. A call to them to inquire about wiring was answered by an engineer who gave us his cell number in case any other questions arose (they didn’t). My complaint, which caused me downgrade an otherwise 5-star rating, is that the EV Charger comes with a redundant 18ft cable (including car plug) attached to it which must be removed for the cable from the EvoReel to be attached. The EV Charger must be opened up so that the electrical connections for the 18ft attached cable can be disconnected and the electrical connections for the 22ft EvoReel cable can be connected. This is not apparent from the product pictures or description on Amazon. The EvoCharge company sells its EvoCharger separately from the EvoReel on its website so it apparently just sends the complete EvoCharger, including its 18ft cable, along with the EvoReel with 22ft Retractable Cable, when it sells the two together. My complaint is that this is a complete waste of an 18ft 30-amp cable and attached car plug. Since only one cable can be connected to the charger at a time, if one is using the EvoReel with 22ft cable, the 18ft cable that the charger comes with must be discarded. This is an incredible waste which bothers someone like me who purchased an EV for environmental reasons.

Worth it. Makes owning an EV easy.
Worth every penny. My wife and I love it. We bought it for our first EV. We would buy again.I did not want to spend the next decade tripping over power cords. I did a ceiling mount, and set it so that when retracted it is high enough that I do not hit my head. It is easy enough to unreel that I can plug in one-handed.It has exceeded my expectations. I thought it might have to fight with it to lock, or to retract. Nope, it is nothing like that. When unreeling, there are three clicks then a pause, then it repeats. To get it to lock, stop on one of the clicks. To retract, stop on the pause. It is that simple. I always am able to get it to give just the right amount of cord, and get it to retract on the first try. When shopping for a charger, I wished it had wifi, but found that I do not miss it. I set my car to charge during non-peak hours and don't worry about a thing. The convenience of having a retractable cord far outweighs having an app that I will play with a few times, then forget about.Mounting was a little harder than expected. It is heavy, and I did a ceiling mount by myself. It took maybe an hour to mount it and do some wire management. I mounted it first, then had an electrician install the outlet. The cord drops in the center of a two car garage. The EvoReel makes owning an EV easy.
