Nice Picatinny Rail to Replace Factory Rail
I recently bought a night vision scope for my rifles, I plan to use it on several guns but the 10/22 didn't have a picatinny rail. It came with a combo Weaver/dovetail mount. I have only seen dovetail scopes on air rifles but Ruger includes it on their 10/22. Probably low magnification scopes that are light makes them attractive for 10/22 owners. It feels like my night vision scopes weighs nearly as much as the gun which gives me a little concern with this mount. It is very well machined, doesn't block the iron sights and just looks good. Since my scope is so heavy and this mount is thin in the middle I wonder if I should use a different mount. The scope is 36 oz which doesn't sound heavy but it sure adds to the rifles weight. I bought this rail mainly because you can still use the iron sights, it is easy to remove the scope for daylight use and just use iron sights. If I have any complaint it would be the price, nearly 3 times the cost of other picatinny rails that don't allow use of the sights. This rail would be a good all around addition to any 10/22, you can use newer accessories and of course traditional scope mounts including Weaver.

Super high quality mount allowing use of iron sights.
The mount is very well machined from a solid billet of aluminum, and the notch in the center allows for continued use of the stock iron sights. Installation was a breeze with the included screws. Everything lined up and fit perfectly. I will use QD rings to mount my scope to this substantial Picatinny rail so that I can easily and quickly switch between my scope and my iron sights.

Great rail with mediocre hardware
The rail is fantastic. Wish the screws were of equal quality, I stripped one of the heads installing it. Also, is it too much to ask for torque specs?

This is the rail Ruger should have included with the rifle.
I was hesitant to order because it’s thirty four dollars for a Picatinny rail that I wasn’t sure would work as hoped. I want to be able to mount a scope with quick release rings to go back to iron sights if needed. You can see in the picture that the Williams fire sights that came stock on my Ruger 10/22 are easily visible even with the rear sight set at its lowest. So it works perfectly.Others mentioned that it matches their rifle well. Mine is stainless steel and it looks like a factory rail. The quality of matching is good, it included screws, and I am very happy with the purchase.I still feel like $34 is high but worth it especially for something made in USA.

This is the one for 10/22 Takedown
I struggled with how many stars to give this. It cost four times as much as similar rails, is not Prime eligible, they charge for shipping, and it took 3 extra days to receive it. Almost gave it 4 stars. But the fact is this is absolutely perfect for a 10/22 takedown. The silver version matches the stainless just right. Looks like it came that way from the factory. The iron sights are clearly visible which is essential for the takedown. If you can't see the iron sights it defeats the whole purpose of the gun. I have a UTG Bug Buster scope with quick release rings which I keep separate in the bag and it attaches rock solid to this rail. So I can put the gun together and use the iron sights or take the extra ten seconds and clip on the scope. Exactly what I wanted so it gets five stars. Sometimes you just need to pony up the extra money. For install I field stripped the gun and added blue Loctite to the screws. Probably not necessary but since it is never coming off what the heck. With it field stripped I could clean up the holes on the underside and let it dry overnight so the Loctite didn't drip down into the action.Bottom line, if you have the takedown 10/22 this is the one you should get. Go ahead and spend the extra money. If you have the regular 10/22 and plan to mount an optic I would probably just go with the cheaper rail.

Perfection like this usually comes with a higher price tag
I carefully reviewed all the similar items before dishing out the extra bucks for this one, which was by far the most costly. After examining the photos and reading all the reviews of this and other products, I decided to go for it. While I had not tried any of the others, they did not appear to have as low a profile and this one appeared to have a wider slot for viewing the iron sights. Every other product had at least a few not-so-satisfied reviews. There were only three reviews of this one at the time of my purchase, but they all were five stars. And with good reason:After installing this on my 10/22 takedown, I have to say that I am completely thrilled with the way it looks and performs. You can view the sights as if the mount isn't even there. The machining is flawless. The finish is even a close match to the receiver's. It's absolutely beautiful. I'm 100% in agreement with the other three reviewers. My Ruger, see-through scope rings work great with the iron sights too. But I had four screws to remove when I didn't want to carry the rifle around with the scope attached, and the rings were still there to get hung up on things. In addition, I had to re-clamp the scope every time I put it back on. I'm giving them away. This thing will never be removed from my 10/22 as long as I own it. Perfection!

Does the trick.
Attaches to the receiver of a 10/22 Takedown perfectly. Accepts Leupold QRW rings great. The diamond of the rear sight is visible, just barely.

Works on the 10/22 Break-Down stowable rifle
Not quite what I was expecting. That being said I still like the mount.Have the break-down 10/22 stainless, it matches perfectly and mounted in like a minute. Apparently they sell a shorter version of this which is perfect for a red dot holographic sight..... but I didn't KNOW that until I read the included instructions. Would have been nice to know!!!!However, still looks good with my Holographic sight and it gives me the option to mount a true scope at some point if I choose. Don't use lock tight or thread lock! It will leak into the chamber. Just screw them down snug but not so snug that you strip it out. You can use a tiny dab of clear nail polish if you must but just a tiny toothpick drip.Function wise you can see the fiber optic sights perfectly thru the little valley of a view area but not much else. Still neat feature and better than the stock mount.UPDATE A MONTH OUT FROM PURCHASE: This mount isn't working well with the Aim dot optic purchased here. Will update more when I figure out exactly what is going on.
