I ordered this for my 2002 Avalanche after it died on the freeway and wouldn't start back up. I was concerned since there was another model listed for my truck, but I went with this one. Dealer wanted $1100 to do this job, and PepBoys wanted $850 to do it with an aftermarket pump. For a truck with 160,000 miles I accepted it needed a fuel pump, but I was not about to pay that kind of money at Christmas time to fix it. With the help of a truck forum, I did the job myself and found the pump had already been replaced once (with an Airtex brand pump). I had a little "oh stuff" moment when I put the new pump in the tank and it didn't seem to fit. Luckily, this one has two spring-loaded guide rods that allow it to compress yet contact the bottom of the tank. There was no filter/strainer on the bottom of the tank which concerned me, but a call to the auto parts store assured me that the ACDelco part contained an internal strainer. You do need to re-use or purchase the quick connect fuel line fittings since they do not come with this pump.

Nothing beats the quality of OEM. Installed this on a friend’s 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV, no issues whatsoever.

This fuel pump was installed in my 2002 Yukon Denali. The pump worked as it should but the fuel guage did not operate as it should. It was jumpy and it would randomly not work. I lived with it for a while bit I finally decided to fix it. Unfortunately I can not return since I waited to long. I installed a Spectra from Pep Boys and it works great.... go figure. AC Delco is what I though would be the best replacement pump.

Perfect fit for non-flex fuel suburban. PLEASE don't leave bad reviews because YOU didn't check your vin and bought the wrong part. Changing a fuel pump is a big job, but doable for the home mechanic. I was tempted to go cheap, but you will be glad you bought a quality part when you see how much work it is to change. Factory fuel pump made it 318,000 miles so I'm hoping this OEM replacement will never need replacement. Pro tip, buy a new fuel filter and lock ring at the same time. Put some automotive grease on the lock ring to ease installation. Did the whole job myself in a Saturday for a fraction of what a shop would charge.

Only problem was picture of brief instructions of item showed an external filter and the unit did not come with one. So the documentation does not mtatch what is being currently shipped. I had to go to the internet to seek comments by others to resolve the issue!! To the best of my knowledge and information supplied bu others this unit has a filter internal to the housing.
