No musical entity has been more closely associated with Guitar World magazine over the years than Edward Van Halen – the man who, in the late seventies and early eighties, changed the course of guitar history. This collection of classic and new interviews with the great Edward tells the real story behind his earth-shaking technique, brilliant songwriting, and relationship with both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. This is the authoritative book – revised and updated with new exclusive interviews and information on one of the greatest rock bands of all time and the guitar god at the center of it all. Review: Great read! - This book is a compilation of Guitar World articles. It’s been great to go back and read all of the early interviews. Definitely recommended Review: The Mighty Van Halen is America's Led Zeppelin! - Just got this great collection of interviews today, half are from the the greatest classic Van Halen era 1978 - 1984. I had the previous Guitar World edition and any hardcore Van Halen fan would pay ten bucks to have another three interviews from 78, 79, & 80 all in one very cool book.

Great book for fans of EVH!
Loving this book so far. Gives a good peak inside of Eddie’s thought process when it comes to his sound. You can really see how he evolved.

A must for the EVH fan
This reprints a plethora of EVH articles and interviews from GUITAR WORLD magazine. I grew up buying the original issues when these were first presented, and I bought this specially because it reprinted the one called THE LIFE AND TIMES OF EDWARD VAN HALEN by Steven Rosen. It seemed like Rosen was the go-to guy for EVH interviews at the time (not all interviews/articles in this book are by Rosen). But that one in particular is incredible. I remember reading it over and over as a teenager and I wanted to read it again. So I bought this book. What can I say? I loved rereading it... and the rest of the book. I ended up buying more VH music because I enjoyed it so much. If you are an EVH fan... you need this. It’s a must buy.

C'est du déjà lu!
Si vous avez encore vos magazines Guitar World depuis 1980, ce livre ne vous apprendra rien de bien nouveau sur Eddie Van Halen. Sorry.
