I needed a spinning reel to handle 6lb line for petite baits for cold weather bass fishing. Overall great quality and affordable reel!

For the money these are nice reels and have a good drag.

Nice reel for the price
Great reel for the price, runs smooth, good drag, no complaints. I got this to use ice fishing actually, I started targeting catfish through the ice and needed something a little heavier than the 500 sized reels I use on my panfish setups. This has been the perfect reel for that application. I use Shimano Siennas in my other rods, and like this reel over those.

Meh...
I know this is a $30 reel and it is not going to perform like a $100 reel, or even a $60 reel. But it really should be able to last more than a single outing in fresh water before starting to sound like a wood chipper on retrieve. It was nice and quiet for a few casts, but before my day was out the racket was driving me crazy. I have not taken it apart to clean yet, but I sure hope I can quiet it down. It looks good, but you get what you pay for
