There is a slight "brushed" appearance.

Yes it does come with cleaning solution.

Q: I have a lot of dvds that need repairing. Where can i get more supplies for more repairs?

I'd try manufacturer of the unit. But sometimes cleaning may not solve the issue. I have a couple of DVDs that cleaning did not restore their play-ability.

Q: can it restore poor quality film?

Never tried it, so I don't know. I'd stay away from this product. It quit on my after about 20 cleanings.
