how do you calibrate this meter my water readings r "000" ?

I would go to www.tdsmeter.com/calibration_maintenance.htm select "hand-held testers", then select "TDS-4: Pocket-Size TDS Meter", then in "Features" description, click on the highlighted text "Factory Calibrated:" which will bring you to "Calibration, Care and Maintenance"...just follow the instructions....if you do, you must have a bottle of the 342-ppm calibration solution, a small straight-blade screwdriver and distilled water to do the procedure...fairly straight-forward.

Why is this model tds-4tm less expensive than the tds-4? it has the all the tds-4 features including auto temp compensation plus digital thermometer

Not sure why it is less expensive. The meter is great and measures TDS and temperature fine. It may be an oversight on the seller's part, or folks may not know about it. I bought this one specifically because it had the extra temperature feature and was less in price also. A no brainer!
