Quality, responsive with a few hitches
I got this to control an HTPC running Kodi under Fedora Linux. The top buttons are adequate for all of the main functionality I use in Kodi -- I IR programmed the power button to control the TV power, and the top-right button (whatever you'd call that) to control power on my receiver. I have VOL+/- control Kodi's output volume, which works natively, but I'm considering reprogramming these to control the receiver's volume.Pros:- The buttons are very responsive -- they work first time, every time. I've had other RF remotes that go to sleep, so the first press only wakes the remote but has no effect on the target device.- Feels quality in the hand. Good weight, no flex, good feedback on the buttons.- Backlight stays lit for just the right amount of time, with just the right brightness.- The instructions are clear enough, with no inaccuracies.- The programmable buttons have native functionality if they're not reprogrammed for IR (eg. VOL+/- send multimedia VOL+/- through the RF interface)Cons:- (minus 1 star) As others have mentioned, the keyboard is always active, even when facing downward. This can cause accidental input, and can even make it more difficult to program the IR (see my comments about that below)- You must push a button for the backlight to activate. This and the upside-down keyboard are addressed in other remotes with an accelerometer chip (air mouse remotes get this for free, I guess :)- Air mouse functionality would be nice, but (of course), no stars deducted because I actually read the description before buying :)- Because it's bluetooth, if you're using it with a PC/Rpi, it won't work until the OS has loaded and the BT connection has established (ie. no boot time functionality.) Again, no stars deducted for this.Pro tip:When programming the IR, put the remotes on a pillow. When first trying to program the buttons, I placed the remotes on a coffee table. I didn't realize it at first, but when I was pushing the power button, it was also pushing a keyboard button on the bottom of the remote, and the programming would fail. Obviously, if you're careful, you can avoid this. Also, when programming, it seems to work best if you push this remote's button very quickly after pushing the source remote's button. And, program them one at a time (ie. put the remote into programming mode, program ONE button, end programming mode, repeat.) The process is VERY finicky.Tips for Linux/Kodi users:If you're not using a desktop app for bluetooth pairing, you'll want to do it from the command line. This page has very simple instructions to do so:https://computingforgeeks.com/connect-to-bluetooth-device-from-linux-terminal/The OK button is NOT going to work out-of-the-box. Its keycode is 353, and Kodi doesn't know what to do with that. So, just reassign it to the ENTER key with udev hwdb:https://yulistic.gitlab.io/2017/12/linux-keymapping-with-udev-hwdb/Following that guide, I came up with this file for /etc/udev/hwb.d :evdev:input:b0005v045Ep0041* KEYBOARD_KEY_c0041=enter KEYBOARD_KEY_70071=l KEYBOARD_KEY_70070=g KEYBOARD_KEY_7006f=x KEYBOARD_KEY_7006e=i(Note: exactly one space before each of the KEYBOARD... lines)This remaps the OK key to ENTER, and each of the '-' keys to different letters. The key above play/pause gets 'x', which is STOP for Kodi. The far-right '-' gets 'i' for info.Overall, I'm pretty happy with this remote. 4 Stars.

Replacement Remote for Nvidia Shield
Good replacement remote for Nvidia Shield's remote. Although, this version of AuviPal is missing voice search is not a deal breaker as I rarely used it. I was searching for a remote with a numeric keypad to use as a traditional remote when watching TV which I use Android TV's Live Channels. I can confirm the numeric function works as expected in Live Channels app and am able to tune in directly to the channel by inputting the channel on the numeric keypad. If the learning IR function was a bit easier, I would give this remote a 5 stars. You have to give it a few tries as others here have mentioned for the IR to pickup the new learned signal.Would recommend this remote for anyone looking for a working numeric keypad for watching live TV.

A pleasant surprise.
When I lost my fire remote, I found this as a possible replacement (please note you have to have a remote to pair the new remote, I was going to use the app on my phone.) I liked the fact that this one had the full keyboard for when I wanted to search for something. I also appreciated the programable IR buttons so I could control the volume and power of other components with my single remote. Now that I have it working, I'm very happy with it.But what surprised me was the level of support that I got from the company who sells these. Not Amazon. Amazon's support was less than worthless. I've been constantly disappointed with Amazon's level of support.Initially I couldn't get the new remote to pair with the fire stick. I reached out to the manufacturing company, Auvi. They immediately sent me a new one, thinking there was an issue with the remote. When the new one had the same issue, I reached back out. They had me send them a video of an attempt to pair the remote. The quickly identified the problem (I wasn't holding the buttons long enough to put the remote into pair mode), and sent me a video on what the process should look like. Once I had that, it paired flawlessly. So, the product is good, the support is awesome.

A lot of features
I use this on a Fire TV. Remote works great and was easy to program. The only negative is battery life. Unlike typical remotes that have long battery life, this is not one of them. Be prepared to plug this one in every few days, say over night, so it’s always ready to go. Once I got into this habit, it’s been all good.

Almost there just no yet
Great remote but the circle control button is a little awkward to use and keeps connecting and disconnecting every 10 to 15 seconds.

Charging port
At first, I loved this remote. Works really well and keeps a charge for months. Very weak charging port. Went to charge it for the 2nd time in 3 months and the port came completely disconnected from the motherboard. If it wasn't for how easy it was for the port to pull off the motherboard, I would recommend it. So only buy if you want to replace every few months.

Orderd the wrong one! But this works well just does not have the air mouse I wanted.
Fast shipping with Prime and I would recommend this as it is much better and seems faster response time than the original remote that came with my Amazon fire cube. I made a mistake, thought I was purchasing the air mouse remote, this one did not have the air mouse. (my fault)! The power button worked right out of the gate you do need to set it up with your fire device in settings and it's easy to do. I do like the fact it doesn't need batteries and comes with a usb charging cable. feels sturdy and works very well when using the up, down, side buttons, and the back button. I have not yet tried to set up the volume or extra buttons . I am not sure if I will send this back in exchange for the air mouse remote or not yet. This is the third wrong item I have ordered in the past three weeks for my new Fire Cube uggh!! (The stars must not be aligned or I am just an airhead of late).
