We are big dark chocolate fans in our household so we were excited to try this! My husband actually prefers dark chocolate over milk chocolate. He is used to eating the 85%-90% cocoa dark chocolate and loves those so he was curious to see how this brand compared.I never heard of pili nuts before so that definitely added to my curiosity level! I can't say that I could identify any of them in the chocolate but I'm thinking they may have contributed to the wonderful creamy texture??The chocolate is quite tasty! I don't think it tastes like diet chocolate at all. If you are used to sweet milk chocolate, this may not be your cup of tea. It does have some bitterness to it, like most dark chocolates. There is also a hint of saltiness. If you have ever eaten any chocolate with nuts in it or any that was sprinkled with sea salt, you kind of know what to expect. It isn't overly salty whatsoever and the salt adds a nice balance to the chocolatey goodness.The main thing that stood out to me about this chocolate is the creaminess!!! OMG! It was wonderful!! Dark chocolate normally isn't smooth or creamy but this definitely was! It had the smoothness of peanut butter and was so delicious!The packaging is unique and eye catching, too. We are really enjoying this special little treat! :)

Expired and couldn't return it

This chocolate is like the creaminess melt in your mouth dark chocolate I think I have ever had. It must be the Pili nuts! Seriously - it is like eating milk chocolate in structure and meltability. VERY nice - I was VERY surprised.As for the taste it is also very nice and pleasant as well. A REALLY nice dark chocolate. It is very slightly sweet as opposed to some other hardcore dark cholates out there - so that I also like a lot (most dark chocolate is sort of bitter and dry). This chocolate bites and chews beautifully and comes off rich and buttery in that regard - not waxy at all. I am VERY impressed and VERY happy that I tried this. I will totally be getting this as gifts for others and will totally get it again myself. These are vegan, paleo, and gluten-free, and taste amazing. The pili nuts are crunchy and buttery, and the chocolate is rich and smooth. They are very satisfying and filling, but they very much taste like dark chocolate which is supposed to be good for you - they didn't quite scratch that "guilty pleasure" itch for me. However, if you're looking for a good energy source snack, this is a good option.

I love dark chocolate and the darker the better but this one misses the mark for me. It isn't really sweet at all and reminds me of when I tried to eat baking chocolate as a kid and I was surprised it wasn't creamy and smooth and sweet like regular chocolate. It's not the worst chocolate I've ever had and for 180 calories you get to eat a whole bar so if you're on a really strict diet this is a nice compromise but I think I'd rather cut my losses and eat real chocolate

This Dark Chocolate PiliBar has several things going for it. You get a distinct dark chocolate flavor, it has less sugar than other dark chocolate bars, and you have an added texture and flavor profile from the pili nut pieces. I had never had pili nuts before, and they taste quite good. It is reminiscent of almonds and gives you a similar crunch. The chocolate flavor is rich and fruity, but there is a bitter aftertaste. Some is from the chocolate which I enjoy, but there are also bitter overtones from the stevia, whose bitter aftertaste I often find intolerable. Fortunately there is not a lot of stevia here, but it does detract from my enjoyment, which is why I have given this bar 4 stars.As with many extra dark chocolates, if you let the chocolate bar melt on your tongue rather than chewing immediately, you get a better and more nuanced flavor profile. This bar is not very sweet and as such will appeal to the hard core bittersweet chocolate lovers, rather than those who want sweeter chocolate bars.

Someone might love this stuff, but I haven't met a single person who does. One friend I offered a bite to thought I was truly trying to be cruel and mean by offering them this 'nasty' chocolate according to them. It's pretty gross, but everyone has different tastes, so of course, YMMV. I do appreciate the creamy silkiness of the chocolate. But the flavor is truly disgusting. The packaging is nice and keeps the chocolate fresh. But unfortunately no one wants to eat the chocolate. Cuz it ain't good.

We tried Pili nuts for the first time several months ago. They're similar to macadamias crossed with pinenuts and Brazil nuts. I thought this Pili Hunters PiliBar The Ultimate Keto/Paleo/Vegan Organic Dark Chocolate would have slivers of nuts in it. Rather, the nuts have been processed smoothly into the chocolate to add richness and make it smoother. With low sugar and only 10 carbs to the entire bar, it's a great dessert option. We each tried just one piece (six per bar). I especially like that the stevia is not noticeable. I think these bars are wonderful, reasonably healthy and still decadent.
