I had one of these carafes for about two years until one broke...got a replacement last month and it broke within a month. Love the design but disappointed in the newer fabrication.

Water tastes good with this product. However, as other reviews have stated, glass is fragile. I have had two break from just the slightest tap. I had bought my first unit years ago that lasted a long time, and due to my being careless it broke. The two more recent replacements are just not up to the sturdiness of my first unit. The quality of the glass bottle that is manufactured now is definitely inferior.

I broke my previous Black and Blum (myfault) and ordered this new one last summer. I noticed right away that the glass was really thin, compared to the previous caraffe. And then this new one broke all on its own, when the charcoal bumped up against the interior wall. You can tell it was not any other kind of crash because the glass piece that fell out was like almost a perfect circle.

Love the shape and the charcoal filter system. It’s been works great for me
