If the hat does get a little wet, ensure that it is air dried & steamed to keep its original shape. The chemicals found in water may also affect the color of the fabric. I have worn my hat in hot temperatures and it doesn't make my head sweat. I live in New Mexico, so it isn't as humid as Texas. That might make a difference. I do love my hat!
