Bostonian Men's Wendell Oxford

I'd been using a pair of what looked and felt like nurse's clogs before these, so it was a major upgrade. Fit: I wear a size 12 and they were a bit large. I dropped to an 11.5 and they were perfect: just enough wiggle room for my toes while feeling snug. Comfort: These feel amazing on my whole foot, specifically my toes. I do a bit of walking for work and these handle it with ease and no pain. Look: These have the smooth matted shine of a quality shoe, not like the cheap plastic seen so often these days. They do require a basic amount of care to polish out scuff marks and keep their luster. Laces: I tend to be abusive with shoelaces, with triple knots and yanking aggressively, and these did not handle well. I've replaced them after a few months I won't take a star away as I'm aware of how rough and hard I knot them compared to the average owner. All in all, these are a quality shoe that, with a decent amount of care, will last you a long, long time. Update: 3/27/2017 A tear has developed in the left shoe near where my pinky toe sits. While this is a repairable fix, there is another downside: the soles of the shoe have lost all traction. With sandpaper I was able to roughen them up as a short-term fix during the winter. Unfortunately with how often I wear them, sandpapering doesn't last long enough to be worthwhile. Considering the incredibly low price for the shoes, I'm keeping my five-star review. I had hoped to get 5+ years out of them before I'd need a new pair but I'll take a solid ~4 years.

Bostonian's Black Leather Oxfords are a staple of work wardrobes everywhere and for good reason. Pros: Classic design. Comfortable and offers great support. This is a good looking shoe, no doubt about it. Wearing them around is easier on your feet than similar shoes featuring wooden heel construction. Suitable for business casual, and fine with jeans, these oxfords are versatile. They will last you through at least a year of regular use no questions asked. If you maintain them with attention to the polish and water protection, you may see even better results. Cons: Synthetic, "lite" feel to the entire construction, serviceable seams and inexpensive sole reduce durability. Final Thoughts: If you are on a budget (i.e. cannot afford high upfront cost for premium craftsmanship), please pick up the Wendell Oxfords, I highly recommend them. 5-stars.

Great pair of shoes and good value for money. Very comfortable from day one with no running in period. Padding inside the shoes adds to the comfort level without being intrusive. The heel is rubbery and absorbs some of the impact, but not too soft or springy. This is probably not the ideal shoe for someone who likes a hard sole and heel, and will probably wear faster than a harder sole if used outdoors a lot. Not an issue for me as I will be wearing it indoors 90% of the time. Ideal for office worker types. Very light pair of shoes. Simple, understated styling. Other manufacturers - please watch and learn. This shoe meets the huge demand for a light, comfortable office environment shoe that looks professional and will not break the bank. I would happily buy the same model again in the future. This model is also AmazonGlobal eligible - huge bonus for someone living in a country where large sizes are very uncommon.

From a comfort perspective, I would give these shoes a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, from a style perspective they are pretty bland and the leather on one of the shoes wore down pretty fast - leaving creases that make the shoes appear much older than they are. I have a very high arch and tend to wear out the out side back of the heels very fast. The arch support is ok and the heels are holding up really good. The heels on several other pairs of my shoes have been worn out within three months. This particular pair is much more durable and holding up VERY well. Bottom line: If you are looking for a durable and comfortable shoe this is a good choice. If you are looking for something comfortable, durable, and "dressy," keep looking.

I have a service-connected knee disability and wear shoes like this all day at work. I stay off my feet to avoid knee pain as much as possible, but do need to walk to and from the parking lot and around the building. Good shoes that prevent knee pain are a must. In over 21 years of working after college, these are by far the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever worn. There is no discomfort at all, they feel very light, and provide cushioning like wearing Vibram-soled combat boots and carrying 100 lb packs (try it without Vibram and you'll know what I mean). The style is great - semi-flat front that adds about 1 inch past your toes, no odd seams around the front and sides (easy to shine), and minimal but comfortable padding around the ankles. This is my second pair and I see no reason why I won't keep wearing these forever as long as they keep being made.

The shoe fits just as it should, which pleased me as I always have a hard time finding shoes that fit me. This was also my first online shoe purchase. Overall I'm pleased with the quality and appearance of the shoe, but I was surprised to see that the shoe was so light. It's also a lot softer than the picture makes it out to be. I was imagining something with leather a little harder (easier to shine). The heel of the shoe is also very soft and almost rubbery. Great for comfort, but I'd prefer a harder heel that almost has a crack to it when you walk.

These shoes are so light! Like walking on a feather. Wish they were more durable though. obvious wrinkles after 3/4 months.
