I teach negative numbers to 3rd grade students. Because I only teach them negative numbers with addition and subtraction, I was prepared to only make use of half this book. I liked the book until Day 13 when subtracting a negative was presented with 2 subtraction symbols used side by side. This would be much clearer for a young learner to see if parentheses were used to separate the operation from the negative value. Back in time, a smaller symbol would have been used to separate the operation from the number's negative value. Either option would improve what is presented here.
