Is it heavy or hard to hold?

It is not hard to hold, the cord swivels so that makes it very easy. I also would not describe it as heavy, but it is slightly heavier than other curlers I've owned. I love this product though!

Does it burn your hair or is it descent quality?

This waver definitely does burn your hair. I use the waver at the highest temp 410' because if not you have to hold the waver in your hair for longer and it'll leave your hair smelling burnt.

how to set up the temperature. Can someone provide instructions ?

You set the temperature at the top of the handle. I personally did not care for it for myself. If I had children who wanted their hair styled it would be great. I founds this item to be to heavy for me to hold and manipulate while styling my own hair.
