would you recommend it to a 11 year old boy

I got this because my 7 yo granddaughter was enticed by the animals she could put together, and as soon as she got the kit she went to work. She loves to assemble, legos, puzzles, whatever, so this set was fun. I think that any age (over 3, small pieces) kid would enjoy it, my 35 yo S-I-L, a big kid, was having fun with this set also.

How do you keep builds from falling apart? My kid can't even play with what he makes. Disappointed

Never even played with it! Although sealed, it was missed the ‘drill bit’ and before that was discovered I had put brand new batteries in the drill and it didn’t even work. Unfortunately past the return time but made for a very disappointed 4 year old on Christmas.
