Perfect grab bars for safety!
Easy to install on 2"X4" studs; screws supplied are 2.25"long, size 10 steel screws for hardwood; the peening helps the grip by wet or soapy hands. The diameter of the tubing is perfect for all of the 18", 16"and 32" grab bars that I bought; the steel is rust-proof, hospital grade in design and material. The designer at MOEN needs to be congratulated for an excellent job, and the production staff as well!

Put on bath wall, over porcelain tile
Great product. Looks good, feels good. Did I mention it might also help you stay alive by breaking a fall?My biggest problem was in finding the studs. My stud finder wouldn't go through porcelain and the drywall apparently. So I looked on the other side of the wall, the kitchen. The mounting screws for the cabinets showed quite clearly where the studs were. But here's the bad news. A 2X4 stud is only 1 1/2 inches wide, so it's almost impossible to put all three screws into it. I only got 2 screws on each bracket to hit, and on one I had to angle the 2 screws. For the third screw, I had the choice of a toggle bolt or plastic expander. I went with the expander (because I didn't want to take a trip to the hardware store.) THe bar is rated for 500 pounds, and my wife and I aren't even a third that. So I reasoned that 2 screws in the stud for each bracket would be enough. The bar feels very sturdy, and I'm confident it will do it's job of breaking a fall. I recommend it whole heartedly.

Just right
As easy to install as one might wish. Because this bar is 32" long, it is easy to place securely screwed into two studs -- the most important reason to buy it. The "peened" portion of the bar is sort of like the feel of frosted glass, easier to grab than regular smooth steel, and something that I will now get for any other such bars I install. Screws that came with it are stainless steel, if I recall they were 1-1/2" long; I substituted 2" stainless steel screws to be sure of getting a good bite into the studs. Although the official disability suggestions specify exactly how long the bar should be, I've found a 32" bar aligned wherever the studs are, a little in front of the toilet, will help the aged/infirm person who needs to use this, and it was not necessary to buy a 48" bar... which would be huge. Installed at 36" high is just right.

These were easy to install, solid support, clear instructions, and definitely make our shower safer!
I had to totally replace our shower, and wanted to add the safety of strong grab-bars, as aging adds balance and strength issues to the situation. These Moen Peened Grab Bars with concealed screws are just the right thing. The installation instructions are exceptionally clear, and easy to follow. The bars are strong and the mounting brackets are well designed and sturdy. The 'peened' finish on the bars' straight length makes it a much safer grip, so you don't slip when you need to be stabilized. They also look just fine, and the safety reassurance is so much more important than 'designer' style. Plus, they are quite reasonably priced! I definitely recommend them!TIPS:- Mark the line of your studs with 1 1/2" blue painters tape so you can see where they are in your placement area instead of imaging where they might be.- The mounting plates need to center on those studs.- If your shower kit doesn't come with them already attached ($$$!), check with your shower's manufacturer as to where to attach 'backer boards' to reinforce the areas you intend to put your mounts. (I had to do a *lot* of searching to get even remotely clear instructions on this, but finally found it. Added 1x4 and 1x6 pine boards at the specified locations on the back side of my kit. Your mileage may vary.)- Follow Moen's location and installation instructions when placing and anchoring your grab bars! Your safety may depend on these, and you need to trust your work.

Works great for Mom
When my 95 year-old mother was released from the hospital, she needed something more secure by the toilet than the free-standing rails she had been using for years. I like the slight texture to it as it gives her a better grip. The grab bar gives her much more stability and makes it easier for her to get up off the toilet. As a retired RN, I know how important patient safety is and this has been a big help.

Solid construction at a decent price
We put this in a tiled shower. It is well constructed and sturdy. The 2 round mounting plates on each side provide holes for multiple screws to go into studs, enabling the 500lb. rating that comes with the product. The mounting plates comes with "donut" covers as you can see in the photo. It's all stainless steel, but since the covers do not keep water from the screws, I wonder if they will rust over time, which is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Well worth installing this Grab Bar, but the Screws are Trash.
It took several hours to install this Grab Bar. It's important to locate the wall studs, and drill holes properly for securing it. Don't rely on just knocking on the wall to find your studs dimensions, use an electric stud finder. The accompanying screws heads easily stripped, poor quality. Get a Large pack of good quality 2 inch screws (in case any more heads strip), and you will save yourself much time, and aggravation.

Safety a priority for disabled.
This grab bar plus the 12 inch were recently installed in the bathroom of our new house. I feel they are of superior quality compared to the ones I had bought and used at my previous home. For one thing the grip on the handle is slip resistant. On my old set I would place a wash cloth over the rail to have a safer grip which made another chore having to remove it after the shower and occasionally bending to pick it up it from the floor, another hazard! My husband who is very limited in his mobility issues can safely stand at the grab bar and feel secure in the knowledge that he can grab this extra long bar from a seated position and raise himself up without difficulty.

Pricey but good quality
There were already grab bars in the bathroom; however, I needed an additional one. I chose the same company and found the same finish as the other ones... matched perfectly. It's sturdy and keeps me from falling. The main part is textured allowing more grip (even with soapy hands). Worth the investment.I have tiles in the bathroom. I had a professional install it and it was worth it as it requires a special bit to drill into tiles without breaking them.

They are superior to handrails as your hand wraps around them
I have purchased three of these from Amazon. Don't know how I ever got around my house without them. I have them installed horizontally in hallways. They are superior to handrails as your hand wraps around them. They are a perfect product.

Grab Bar Licious
great product, fast safe shipping, peened doesn't fully describe the finish well enough for the buyer to know if it matches the rest of the products bought. In my case it was exactly the same as what I have already installed.
