Q: how many clips do you get?

It depends on how they are packaged. The minimum seems to be 3, but there are other sellers who sell them with a higher count and different sizes..

Q: Would this work for appliance cords? The opening looks too small for an appliance plug to fit through...

I don’t think so. The slit would not fit over the plug end, and an appliance cord would be too thick to be effective. I use Velcro loops for my appliances.

Q: Will these magnets demagnetize a hard drive or credit cards?

Can’t answer for certain but would think the manufacturer wouldn’t sell with the idea of using them to wrap cords etc.
