Handy for maintaining potted plants
I use it to measure ph and moisture on some plotted plants. The display is small and can be difficult to read clearly while stuck in the middle of a larger pot. I find that I need to see the position of the needle and then remove the unit an see what that value was. But for the price this is a minor inconvience and it really has been helpful in deciding when to water and how much. Can't say about the ph meter. It shows my plants are just slightly acidic- just below 7. May test with some dirt and vinegar later.

For the money this cannot be beat!
This tool is easy to use and requires no batteries! Moisture meter is very good, but I needed because the leaves of some plants were showing signs something other then moisture was a problem. I looked up what the proper PH level should be for each plant and checked the soil. I saw PH levels were too acidic, so added white vineger to a sprinkling can, and checked the PH of the water while in the can. Once the ph level was correct for the plant, I then watered each. I noticed within days the plant leaves were upright and in a much more normal position. I'm told if the PH is off too much, fertilizer cannot be absorbed. This product is very helpful and takes out much of the guess work!

I had to buy three "returned two", until one worked correctly.
I had to buy three "returned two", until one worked correctly. The sticker on the front covered the light sensor and had to correct that!I use it for the soil moisture reading, that part works well enough. The PH tester never did work correctly, on any of them. The light tester will help "a little" in that area!

You get what you pay for
It works. It’s flimsy, hard to read, and not extremely accurate, but very inexpensive. It’s great for getting a rough idea of soil conditions without spending much money. I would buy again.

Very Helpful Meter
I’m very happy with my meter. I purchased this tool basically just for watering and it has really helped in getting my watering schedule on track. The light meter has also been very helpful in placing my plants. I have not used the pH setting.

Works fine, I’m just bad at lawn care
I give it 3 stars for accuracy because on the moisture measurement it’s either wet or it’s not. I got the meter because I have a spot of dead grass in my yard that always goes yellow same time each year regardless of what I do for it. So yeah the meter works fine - if anything it just reaffirms to me that maybe I just suck at lawn care.

PH is not accurate. Call local extension office instead. Great for moisture!
The product is awesome for moisture and sunlight. Tried checking pH and a planter that was filled only with moist Canadian sphagnum peat moss (as it CLEARLY states DO NOT USE FOR LIQUIDS). After 10 minutes in the moss, the pH never changed from 8. CANADIAN Magnum peat moss is the only Pete lost to have a pH of 4.5 to 5. Clearly the pH meter isn't accurate. Call local extension office to have soil pH tested for a small fee (like $20). They get down and dirty with the deets. Mineral counts, pH, soil type... Also the extension office employee will be able to recommend soil amendments as needed based on what you are wanting to plant.

Helpful moisture meter
I bought this meter because o really need to know the moisture level of my plants. I’m new to being a plant parent and haven’t really figured out how to tell how moist the soil is by the weight of the pot. I also can’t get my fingers down the soil far enough to know how dry or moist it really is. I’ve been using this meter and it’s been so helpful. I just make sure to put the meter down in the middle of the pot instead of the edges and I always clean the rods between each plant and afterwards.
