A fab variety of activities
As a home educator I'm always on the lookout for new ideas and fun activities that incorporate the development of specific skills and this book is chock full of them! Even if you think you've seen it all on Pinterest, this book still has some fresh ideas your kids will enjoy!I love how the activities are split up into chapters so depending on how much energy you have /how much mess you want to make /what the weather is doing you can easily narrow down a selection. I also love the key at the end of each activity that tells you what skills the activity focuses on, such as working memory or fine motor skills, so if your child is struggling with something in particular then you can support them with that.Another great thing about the book is that most of the activities require very little prep and use things you most likely already have in your house, which makes it very easy to incorporate the activities in to my home ed planning.

A must-have resource for all parents and carers
I came across this author and book on Twitter - @senresourceblog - and I have been looking forward to getting my hands on it ever since! As a parent of two, 1 who is autistic, it’s hard to come up with games both of them will enjoy and benefit from. This book is fabulous at both! It is divided into chapters which have a number of activities for different scenarios, eg, rainy day or going for a walk etc. Each activity is very accessible; all use household items that you probably already have lying around so no extra expense! What I find brilliant are the parent/carer tips as well as the skills checklist. My son had sensory issues so I know from a very quick glance if an activity is going to be a good one for him. I was so thrilled to have such a handy resource, I bought one for the preschool to have too! This is top of my list for keeping in the bag for trips out or holidays, no more boredom!!

Perfect for all children - not just SEN
This book is everything you need to keep your child entertained, without the guilt of feeling like they're playing "too much", because they are, in fact, learning!Every activity has checkboxes at the bottom to tell you what skills your child is developing (and if you're anything like me, it serves as a good reminder of what the key skills actually are). The activities are easy to follow, and supported brilliantly by the amazing illustrations. The chapters really help to quickly navigate through the activities, and the author has clearly put a lot of thought into what parents really need, with chapters such as 'Sitting Still' and 'Rainy Day Play'.I've put this book with my recipe books because I treat it very much the same way; pick it up, flick through, and quickly find a great activity as and when it's needed.A must-have for parents of all children - not just SEN!

Lockdown lifesaver… but great all year too!
Fab resource with great and easily explained ideas for play with a purpose! Different sections help you to explore play in different environments. Great way to get kids to be more imaginative and also to find lots of fun without having to spend a fortune or buy expensive resources! Even I had pasta in the cupboard! Highly recommended.

If you only buy one book for your little learner make it this one!
So many fantastic activities in this book I will struggle to choose which ones we do first!! It’s a real treasure trove for parents, carers & educators. I feel like I’ve actually got a 2for1 bonus with this book as each activity is so well laid out & detailed my 20yr old & 11 year old both with additional needs themselves will easily be able to carry out the tasks with their 3yr old brother which will give them a real sense of achievement & a lovely opportunity for bonding for all three ❤️ Loving the “rainy day” section in particular as it’s to rain here all week so it’s perfect timing to stop us all going stir crazy stuck indoors! All in all it’s a huge thumbs up from this mumma bear!

Brilliant Book !
As a parent with a child with a learning disability, it can be overwhelming reading lots of information/books on how to help your own child. I sat and read this book and found it brilliant ! It's easy to read and the activities on each page are so easy to understand and not complicated to do. Each activity is structured so well into segments. Things were popping out at me that I felt my daughter would love. Just simple things that I would have never have thought of ! I can't wait to try some of these activities out with my daughter. I've purchased another book for her teacher at school as I know she will love it too! Its blooming fab !
