HazelMoon's Hawaiian Tarot

As a Native Hawaiian, I really wanted to like this deck. I really, really did. But I was pretty disappointed.I cannot connect with the deck. The images don’t seem to represent or match the meaning of the card it’s been assigned to. Every reading I’ve tried comes out clunky and somewhat non-sensical. Although I have tried to refer to the booklet it came with, I just couldn’t flow with the reading.I even gave the deck an introductory interview and asked it what would the outcome of our working relationship together and it told me “CATASTROPHE” lol.I did feel disappointed with some of the art. The border around the images are unnecessarily large. The tactile sensation of these cards is unpleasant. They stick to each other and to your hands. Difficult to shuffle.This deck is best as a collector’s deck. If you love tarot and Hawaii, it’s nice to have. I wouldn’t deem it as useful for any practical readings.

I am so disappointed. Hawaiian culture is very rich. This deck is from a tourist point of view. And the card stock is very cheap. Falling apart even though I have only shuffled it a couple of time.

I like these cards. I lived in Hawaii a long time ago as a child, so I suppose the primitive art really corresponds with my memories. The death card with the floating lei gives me the chills. That’s the last thing we did before leaving. I do agree with others that they tend to stick together.

I bought this for my islander granddaughter as she always wants my tarot card set and she loves it

These cards are very beautiful and fun to read with.

the cards and book arrived earlier than scheduled and in perfect condition. each time I explore the cards, something happens in my heart. can only describe it as a connection, a gentle opening. this is a deck to spend some time with, like good loving friends. no rush with these cards, like Hawaii herself, you know, "island time".
