Works extremely well. Easy install
This Optimus unit is much more precise than I expected in a consumer GPS. I moved the car over 3 feet on the driveway, and it registered that small move and drew a new map. Impressive. It updates at 30 second intervals, which is adequate for my use, which is to track the car if it is stolen (just had another car stolen from me in Arizona -- and recovered by Colorado police - YAY! ). It is also very sensitive to movement such as shutting the trunk or closing a door. For some, it might be too sensitive, but if so, the apps do allow you to turn the "movement alert" on and off quickly. Obviously anyone trying to monkey with the car is going to set it off -- even if they jack it up for stealing wheels or to tow, it is going to alert. The phone app and the web browser app are not all that impressive, but they do respond quickly to the units communications, usually within 5-7 seconds of the "triggering event" in my testing of it. It also uses Google maps, so that is a good thing. Overall, I'd say the apps are mediocre, but still no complaints, as they DO get the job done in a basic way. Installation is as simple as splicing into a 12v wire ("hot" at all times) and a ground wire. Easy as pie (the unit comes with its own in-line fuse holder and 5A fuse). It draws only a few mA, and leaving the car parked for 5 days without being started had no effect at all on the battery's starting power delivery. I can't speak to longevity or durability, but the GPS unit seems to be well made and a solid piece. As long as it holds up over time, this seems to be a really good unit and a nice bang-for-the-buck value.

Fantastic tracker!!!
Awesome tracker! Works great, even with battery disconnected! I’m able to track all of my vehicles and see exactly where they went on any given day! Just take the time and install it in the vehicle somewhere a car thief would never think to look for it! Definitely worth the price of the tracker and the monthly use fee! I highly recommend Optimus trackers!

REAL PERSONS REVIEW (not paid)
I’m actually a real person with limited knowledge of GPSs. This is a really good one. I bought one for my. At since I let a friend borrow it. I’ve had it hooked up to a 12V 15 minute battery for the last 4 days with no charge. It’s was strong and still no drain on the battery. Wanted to make sure it worked well before I placed it on the car and drained that battery. It is now on the car and monitoring as it should. It even tells you the battery voltage on the app, so you can make sure to either start the vehicle and charge it or disconnect the gps. Installation is easy! Subscription is required, but it’s only $12 a month (which I got the first month to make sure it works), or $132 for a year (comes out to $11 a month). You can easily access to change or cancel at any time! Love the push notifications. You can also have text and email notifications. I just purchase a second one for my SUV that doesn’t get driven as much, but it’ll be nice to know where it is at all times!

Reliable 24/7 tracking without the battery hassle
I wanted to try a new product for my new truck due to the increases in vehicle thefts in the area. As a Turo host I tend to go with the bounce unit because hardwiring some many vehicles is a task. But with my recent purchase of a new pickup truck i wanted to try something hardwired so I can have peace of mind. I wanted a GPS tracker that I could set up once and not have to think about charging, and this Optimus wired version fits the bill. Since it connects directly to the car battery, it provides continuous tracking with no downtime. Installation took a little effort — I had to tuck the wiring carefully so it stayed hidden — but once installed, it’s been running flawlessly. The tracking accuracy is excellent. The app shows location updates, trip history, and route details with precision. Unlike plug-in trackers, this one doesn’t risk being unplugged by accident or running out of power. That peace of mind alone makes it worth it for long-term use. Pros: continuous tracking, no recharging, accurate routes, reliable app. Cons: requires installation, so not as plug-and-play as OBD trackers. If you want a tracker you can install once and depend on, this is a solid option. Great for fleet vehicles, long-term monitoring, or just having the assurance that your car’s location is always available.

I recommend them.
It's very good, I have it installed in a truck and it gives me the exact directions.

Accurate up to the second location, as long as you have a cell signal obviously
This tracker actually works really good, as long as you get some kind of signal. Now where I live we don't get a signal down in the Hollar where the house is. So it doesn't start giving location until you're up on to the mountain. But it does a great job if giving accurate locations up to the second. It also gives history back a month if you want it to. You can also download tracking history. The subscription is only $10 a month and well worth it if you're trying to keep track of your vehicle or equipment. We got it bc my brother was just getting out of rehab and we honestly didn't trust him yet and was allowing him to use our truck. We wanted to know exactly where he was going and what he was doing, so yep we tracked him. I gotta say it was well worth the money and I'm gonna keep the service bc well you never know

Great Tracker for the Money
I've had the tracker on my El Camino for almost three years, and it works great. I pay a minimum fee each quarter (around $34) to keep the tracker going. It's quite accurate, and I'm very pleased with it.

Very poor performance
I tried out this device for a month and ended up returning it. Attached are screenshots of only a very small sample of what I experienced. During that time, the device reported 81 false trips (trials) that ranged from a couple feet to several meters on a single line while the vehicle was parked. Most false trips were 3-5 minutes in duration but some were over a half hour but the vehicle never moved. The device also reported 55 episodes of crazy changes in direction and continuous travel in random directions while the vehicle was slowing down, stopped or parked for several minutes. All of this was reported to their tech support who said that they could and would fix it on their end but there was no real improvement. The mobile app is not impressive at all. It feels generic, clunky and unrefined. The online interface is cleaner and more efficient. I was satisfied with how detailed the reports were. Geofensing worked as expected, though tech support didn't like how I configured mine and changed them without my permission, making them 300% larger, covering areas that I didn't want covered. When I asked them to restore them to their original configurations, tech support said that they could not and I would have to delete and re-create them which was extremely aggravating. Ultimately, they caused more problems than they solved. Eventually, they simply stopped responding to my emails. The only good thing that I can say for this device is that it's easy to install. Pretty much anyone could do it in 5-10 minutes. Although, the wires could stand to be quite a bit longer. In my case, mounting it directly on top of the battery was not an option so finding a place to mount it where the wires would reach was a real challenge. Bottom line, the performance of the device and quality of the service was very poor and grossly overpriced.
