Does this work for longbow strings? How long will it last?

I use this wax on my traditional recurve strings, both endless loop and flemish twist styles. Longbows use the same styles of string, so I'd say Yes it will work for your string. As to how long it lasts, I can't give a good estimate. I check my strings before I head to the range and wax them if they need it. Depends how much you shoot.

The wax is more like a solid , much like petroleum jelly , and stays on the string better.

I guess it depends how often you shoot. I shoot about 9 months out of the year-4-7 days a week and a can lasts me about 2 seasons. A little goes a long way. FYI-don't use the enclosed leather pad to apply the wax if your using a compound bow; it will shorten the life of your strings.

how is this apply on string? just put on finger and rub it on?

There is a leather applicator included. The instructions say, "Apply to leather applicator and run down the length of the string which does not contact the bow." Hope this helps in your decision!
