Works great
We let the kids use it while we use the big metal detector . Throw a few pennies in the sand they think it’s great. Lol

I received this yesterday and found metal steaks my metal detector missed. If you want a hand held detector buy this one.

Detects larger pieces well
I use it for gold hunting. It can find larger pieces of metal, even partially submerged. It is not great for smaller pieces of gold. It's sensitivity isn't fine enough. For the price is is a nice little sturdy detector. Great for coins, jewelry and scrap. Not so much for the tinyer specimens.

Won’t detect bird shot
Wanted to find shot in game birds. It does not detect that small of metals

Work or not
Did not work , tried a quarter and dime at 1/4”. Barley detected. 1/2” no detection at all
