I have not owned many lanterns but I'm very big into flashlights in general. Though I do prefer a lantern that takes AA's along with 18650 housing so I can have dual battery capabilities, this lantern definitely fit the bill in every other category. I will still be on the market searching for what I am looking for when it comes to 18 6 50 battery capability. But when it comes to a lantern that only takes AA, low cost, and simple at best this lantern does very well. It is lightweight, it is easy to carry and compact like most retractable lanterns. I'm assuming the bulb in this is a Cobb bulb it is extremely bright and it looks like one that I've seen before. You do also have a small compartment up top that locks into place "lefty loosey righty tighty". The metal handles do tend to wabble around a little bit but for the money I think it's very hard to come by something that is better. Construction seems to be very generic and standard And it's not gonna fall apart in your hand but I would definitely not recommend dropping it too hard but it seems like it could handle a basic fall. I am very impressed with this product and I will be purchasing another set soon. So if you're looking for a good quality for a good price lantern that just has a great light distribution; get this product. I am sure you will be happy. Anyone is looking for a good battery life with any standard lantern I personally have had great experience after testing with specifically the Energizer max AA battery.

We seem to lose power at the worst possible times - almost always after the sun goes down - so having reliable lighting on hand is a must. These lanterns have turned out to be one of those “buy once, keep forever” items. They’re incredibly simple to use. Just pop them open and they turn on instantly, throwing off enough light to easily illuminate an entire room. The 360-degree light makes a big difference compared to flashlights that only point one direction. During outages, one lantern per room works perfectly - and with a 4-pack, that covers most of the house without scrambling. They’re lightweight, portable, and easy to move around. The grey color says “these have a purpose.” We’ve also used them outside while working in the dark, and they’re bright enough to be genuinely useful, not just “emergency dim.” Battery life has been solid so far, and I like that they run on standard AA batteries - no special chargers or cables to worry about. The collapsible design makes storage easy, and the handles are handy for carrying or hanging if needed. Overall, they feel well-made, reliable, and practical - exactly what you want in an emergency light. If you deal with power outages, storms, or just want dependable lighting around the house or garage, these are a no-brainer. Simple, effective, and worth keeping on hand.

Executive summary first. These lanterns are compact, lightweight and very, very bright. I was able to get the batteries (not included) in them very quickly and all lanterns delivered worked without issue. I am very happy with my purchase. Details. I ordered these lights as I was looking for unobtrusive compact lights to use in power outage situations. I ordered these particular lights because they rated themselves with more lumens than similar such lanterns. Now I've learned you can take seller lumen ratings with a grain of salt over the years, but I can attest that these lights really deliver on brightness. The 3 required AA batteries are easy to install, all lanterns lit up uneventfully and all were equally very bright. Even with the 3 AA batteries, these lanterns are lightweight meaning there would be little problem in carrying one in your backpack. I like these lights because their compactness allow me to place it pretty unobtrusively next to a lamp to have a bright substitute light source available in the case of a rare power outage. So pros: works uneventfully, batteries go in easily, lightweight and very bright. Cons: To be honest I find the light a bit harsh and cooler in color than I like. Based on the fact it is powered only by 3 AA batteries I'm expecting to last only a few hours on a fresh set of batteries (manufacturer says 6-8 hours). Also a con I think is that you control the intensity of the light by lowering it or raising it in its casing thus hiding or revealing how much of the light is exposed. That means the light is always consuming full battery power if you use it even if you lower it to reduce intensity. So intensity settings would have been better but that is not a major drawback by any means. I attach a video showing me install batteries and giving a brief demo of the lantern. As I said, this one is given a 5 star rating because of its compactness, light weight, unobtrusiveness and brightness. Having said that, I need to point out among the 3 different types of lanterns I ordered, it lasts the least amount of time before having to change batteries and has the harshest light. Nonetheless, I am very happy with this purchase.

These are great! The light is very bright and you can adjust it easily to have a little light or a lot (the light cover telescopes). Fully opened, it provides quite a bit of light if the power is out. It's easy to install the batteries (not included). These are lightweight and easy to carry. There are a lot of different color combinations to match your decor. We got the 4 pack so we can have them all over the house in the event of an outage (we live in an area prone to tornados). The size is good too. It's about the size of a can of vegetables. We are very happy with our purchase!

The lantern camping lamps have a goo bright white light, useful for camping in the woods the size is small. I don’t know about water proof yet. Value the money but I would like them to be a bit bigger in size. Easy to be carry around and pretty good if we lose electricity. Helpful little lamps. Thanks for sharing my opinion on this one.

I like these small lanterns. They are good for emergency lights, and provide steady, bright light in a compact package. If you need lanterns you can hang or place on a surface, with the ability to vary the amount of light by changing how much of the lamp is exposed, these work very well.

I love these lights. Our power has been off quite a bit lately, good ole Oklahoma weather, and these have helped light the way around the house. Because they come in a 4 pack the batteries have lasted a very long time. The brightness is great and can be adjusted simply by lift or closing the light canister. It doesn’t seem to get hot to the touch and can be used indoors or out. The set was definitely money well spent.
