I've long been a Samsung phone user, but was not prepared to pay the premium for continuing to do so. Saw this Oppo phone reviewed very highly online and at a significantly lower price I thought I'd take the punt. I'm delighted I did so. The phone itself is very well made and very good looking. The screen is excellent, and performance well up there with the best I've used. The battery life is out of this world compared to the Samsungs I've previously owned, but even when you do run out the charging is ridiculously fast using the provided fast charger. A special word for the camera, for which the quality of images it captures is a very pleasant surprise, even in the dark (and the night mode is impressive). There's a microscope option to boot which whilst a bit of a gimmick is a lot of fun. I'm delighted with this phone, and for what you get the price is extremely competitive. An unfamiliar maker for me previously, but I'm so glad I took the gamble on them.

Oppo are not well known in the UK or Europe but are massive in Asia and other parts of the world and it shows in their products . This is our 5th Oppo and they have always been stable,reliable and perform well too. Despite being released 2yrs ago this phone is still very current and worthy of being called a flagship phone and at just over £400 it is excellent value for money and in my opinion will match any current £1000 phone. The screen is of amazing quality, its a fast phone well made and comes with charger, headphones and very nice case too. Color OS runs well with no bloatware and mine has updated to Android 13 and according to Oppo is on the list for Android 14 too so the phone remains fully upto date. Rumours are that Oppo may sadly pull out of Europe market due to the usual political issues so get one while you can you won't be disappointed.

Let me start this review by explaining I love trying all the latest phones from Android and Apple. I was after a new phone from my iPhone 12 pro max. I had got board of iOS. So I looked and all I kept coming across was Samsung or OnePlus (oppo sister company) I have had OnePlus before and they have been excellent. But I have for sometime wanted to buy a oppo but none had appealed to me untill I seen this beaut. As soon as I seen, read the specs and watched some views on YouTube I was hooked. And oh boy I am a glad I chose her. She has amazing cameras they are better than my iPhone 12 pro max in my opinion the screen is to die For and it is just stunning. The battery life seems to be fine I have mine running on 1440p and 120hzs so obviously it's going to drink battery life. Small price to pay for a great screen. I can honestly say this is the phone I will settle with to me it is the best phone I have ever used and is just so great in so many ways. Just buy it.

After having used this for a couple of weeks now thought it would be good to give a rounded review. This phone is a great all rounder, and considerably cheaper than high end Samsung or other android alternatives. This phone is waterproof and dustproof to a similar rating as the top end Samsung alternatives. Battery life is good, and the phone comes with a basic case plus screen protector pre-applied, which is a bonus. The phone is considerably lighter than the Samsung S21 / S21 Ultra. The camera is a great all rounder, with a novelty 'microscope' mode, that zooms in close at both 30x and 60x magnification. The camera is pretty good for general and night time shots, but I still feel that the top end Samsung or Huawei models (I came from a Huawei mate P20 pro with a degraded battery) still beat this phones pictures. Having said that, that's me being very picky - things like zoomed in pictures (at concerts or events) and even pictures of a full moon in the night sky (something that my old mate P20 pro still does remarkably well, whereas this phone cannot take a clear picture). See attached pictures for reference, first is from my old Huawei Mate P20 Pro (clear photo of the moon!), second and the rest are from this phones camera. For every day use this phone is more than enough, and I'm glad I went for this. Hope this helps.

For the hefty price tag you get a phone with stunning photo and processing capability. The two photos attached are to show one in dim light with AI and second is the microscope lens which offers breathtaking detail although a steady hand is required. The fingerprint reader is the fastest of all phones I've had so far however dirt, or any other substance like flour as an example will slow down the read speed. Face recognition also more accurate than others but blistering fast so I wouldn't recommend using this as a security feature for private or bank apps. Battery life runs all day with normal constant use (with WiFi on and data but Bluetooth and personal hot-spot off) but all functions on will drain battery much quicker. Otherwise a fab phone to have plus phone does not heat up when charging only when reverse wireless charging will heat a little but not as warm as some other brands.

Good phone but battery didnt last half a day

This was a big move up for me. I bought it for video calls. My last phone had a poor selfie camera with lots of background noise in the calls. This phone is brilliant for video calls with a 32 meg selfie camera 🤳. Its well built, solid and looks fab. Tons of storage and loads of memory. Highly recommend it. Only downside is that it is a 2021 phone, so it had lots of operating system updates to load when I switched it on, which took a few days to do. It's being offered at a fab price now. I don't expect to replace this for at least five years.
