you may not be in internet range while buying a car. This guide gives a broad range of cars to find pricing on, but it may not be the best for specifics on some models. On the fly it is helpful to get a round about value that you need to mentally adjust for location, and shape of vehicle while in go mode. These values are not accurate on kbb.com level. period. There are a few reasons for that. 1. The scope is wide in models, just not detailed enough, or including ALL pricing found online. Trade In gets good/very good while Private Party gets good and excellent. I've never sold or bought an *excellent* in private party deals. Ever.Number 2. Car values change online when the wind moves. Like your guide is only good for a few months before overstating values. Bad for buying. Go to sell and you are asking too much...You may well be let down but some kid who offers $400+ below what you think it is worth.Its great for a quick peek at value, but it is not thorough enough. I sell cars above blue book occasionally after really fixing them up to better than other cars similarly listed. I have no shame about it, because I put serious work into the thing. And it is good. So just know that car values can be subjective in that my car with 100k and a bunch of work is going to get more than your average person who over sells their car which needs work that they don't know about. It runs good! is not the same as timing belt at xxx miles, coolant flush xxxmiles, spark plugs here, etc. There is a lot of subjective valuing going on in those situations so look carefully before you decide pricing. Most people look in the book and wishfully think their car is worth *good* or better value when they never take care of it or only change the oil and nothing more. That's not the case from my viewpoint. But the book is handy if you are aware of continual depreciation and know how to look at a used car and double check online when you can. Its the best.

As always with Kelley, great info on what pone should pay for used vehicles considering mileage and condition. Highly useful.

This book didn't even have my car listed. It is a Nissan Altima 2.5SL. This only showed the 2.5S. It showed nothing about the mileage which is a huge factor is calculating the value of the car. Too, the font in this book is so small I needed a magnifying glass to read it even though I have perfect vision.

It helps to know what the price should be.
