All jokes aside, this might really be one of the purchases I'm most satisfied to have done on Amazon.Pros - you punch it and it makes a sound (like the games) and lights up. What else do you need in your life?You can deactivate the sound if you want to! That is great if you wanna use it more than just showing off to friendsCons - I'd have to say that the light is a little weak, so it won't illuminate a lot if you have to go to the bathroom or something. But as a cosmetical piece, it is awesome!2) What is the deal with all products requiring AAA / AA batteries? Cant it have a charging battery inside? That would be great. But it does come with a USB cable so you can use it without batteries, but the downside is that you have to keep it connected. So you might have to consider that if you wanna put it in a place that you want to keep minimalistic without cables (or just buy batteries and solve that, right?)

My husband's birthday was coming up and since he introduced our son to Mario Brothers, I was inspired. I used this light as a cake stand. It was a biy wobbly but still had the impact I wanted. (We didn't leave it unattended with the kids or dogs).My son (4) also stole it after we were done and brought it to his room to use as a night light. Nice warm light emitted.You can plug it in with the provided USB cord (which was pretty short) or 3 AA batteries (not included). Has a screw to hold battery compartment closed. There is a switch to turn the sound off. You must push the top of the light to turn on/off. Overall an amazing little light and might buy a second one.

The media could not be loaded. I bought one of these with a coupon at BoxLunch (a store in the mall). Wasn't expecting it to be as AWESOME as it is. It's the perfect addition to our bedroom as my husband and I are just grown kids.. I bought this one for my husband's side of the bed. :)The plastic it's made out of is not very heavy and couldn't last through a fall on a hard floor. It's very light weight and it feels a little bit cheap. But honestly, this thing is so cool. It says on the box, that it has official game sounds (which I didn't even see) and you can turn off or on. The question marks on the side are raised so it has dimension.I bought another one for my son because he was a little jealous :)

Extremely cool. It plays the coin sound when you push it on and off and also gives you the option to turn sound off. My only critique is that it is battery operated. We are using it as a night light for my son's Mario room. Which means the batteries will go quick. They do give you a usb cord so technically you can plug it in, I imagine it works with any USB adapter. I would have just liked to have a plug for it. You never know if the usb cord is going to work well with the plug you use. I will say this, we have been looking for something like this for a while and found one cool like this but after placing in cart found out shipping was very expensive and would have been 120 for something that looks just like this. So glad I found it for more than half the price.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. The box makes a sound that sounds like it's exactly from the game!Quality-wise the box fell a bit short of my expectations. I was wary of other reviewers' comments but I decided to purchase it anyway. The plastic looks very cheap up close, and in some places the "shadow" part of the question mark is scratched. This is upsetting because when the block is turned on you can see the yellow plastic through the scratched black parts. I tried to use a black Sharpie to fill in the scratches, but the ink was not able to cover the scratches. I wonder if paint could work, but then when the block is turned on the blotches of paint may be visible because the black layer on the block is so very thin.However this block made for a very fun, novel gift! When the block is lit up the scratches are not visible from a distance. It was so worth it to see the smile on my boyfriend's face when I gave this to him. :)It feels a bit delicate so I would not recommend this for young children. We mostly use this as a decoration in one of our bedrooms. I do wish that there was a way to plug it into an outlet without having to use a really long USB cable and an adapter, but even if we used those things I worry that the block wouldn't be able to handle the weight of the cord hanging off of a bookshelf.

Bought this for a Harvest/Halloween party where I have a Mario themed booth. It attracted lots of attention! I love the sound it makes when you turn it on! I put it on our bookshelf now and it looks awesome. Only issue I have is that the batteries die down more frequently than I like, but maybe we use it more than others would because we love it so much!

This was a gift for my son as a night light and he loves it! Pushing down on the top lights it up and gives the signature Super Mario sound when getting a coin. He's had it for 7 months now, using it lightly and it still works great even when it sits on the floor and usually gets hit by stepping on it.

I recently decorated my son's room in Mario and this is one of the best pieces I've selected. The noise is optional but super cute (especially for the older generation who remembers the sound) and the lamp is battery OR usb powered so you've got options of where you want to put it. He loves it as a nightlight and it looks great!
