Something that I had been looking for for a long time. Not available as an ebook. Great price for a hardcover. Almost like new.

Ottima enciclopedia, aggiornata e competente. Personalmente la trovo più gradevole da leggere rispetto ad altri libri da leggere. Informazioni stringate ma sufficienti per farsi un'idea dell'artista. Cover flessibile e rilegatura dall'apparenza non solidissima. Vedremo nel tempo. Lingua inglese, ovviamente.

When it comes to any book of this nature (A history book about a certain segment of the entertainment business) there's bound to be some omissions.I'm sure there will be reviews of this book that will dwell on that so I'm not going to.What I will say is that there is over 1100 pages in this book filled with rather small print about Rock and Roll.At least Rolling Stones version and interpretation anyways.Its mostly small histories and discography's done the way Rolling Stone has always done stuff(Think their record reviews) about an amazing amount of artist's.Are there omissions and inaccuracies?Sure there probably is.With such a rich and varied history how could there not be?Is it worth it?In my opinion and having read Rolling Stone for the last 44 years I would say yes.This is the kind of book that you can pick up and just turn to any page and if you love this form of music you can always find something interesting to read.Now the downside.I got it used and real cheap so I'm not going to complain about a couple of torn pages other than to say the pages are extremely thin and you wouldn't want your young kids or neglectful friends pawing through it.The main gripe I have thou is the font it's sort of small and when I'm tired sort of hard to see.All in all thou it's a fine book just look for a deal.A good reference tool

Alors voilà une superbe encyclopédie du Rock & Roll mise à jour pour le 21ème siècle !!! Détrompez vous. L'équipe de rédaction a d'énormes difficultés à sortir des Etats Unis et de nombreux groupes "d'autres continents" ont été oubliés. Pire : même certains groupes US n'y sont pas alors qu'ils ont démarré une remarquable carrière avant la rédaction de ce machin. La cerise sur le donut c'est qu'en plus, ils ont trouvé les moyens de retirer des "gens" de leur bouquin par rapport à l'édition précédente (il y a la liste dedans)et " en plus en plus " tout en y conservant des trucs qui n'ont rien de très rock ni roll. C'est comme si dans une encyclopédie du foot on rayait la coupe du monde 1958 parce qu'elle encombre et qu'on y garde les noms des commentateurs des match dans les années 1970. Bientôt cette troisième édition aura en fait dix ans de retard et des lacunes encore plus grosses que je ne peux même pas vous citer tellement la liste est longue... Je n'achèterai pas la quatrième édition.
