DANGEROUS!! Please read & do not buy
With this recent warm weather I have been inundated by flies in my kitchen.I bought this PluieSoleil Indoor Electrical Insect Fly Killer hoping to solve my insect problem. When the delivery turned up the box is labelled PROFESSIONAL Insect Killer Manufacturer as the product name. Eh? I thought this was a PluiSoleil (Not that this name means anything either, but still get the product name right on the box)It is then described as a NATUREL (???) & Chemical-Free energy saving powerful Pest Killer. On opening the box the product is literally just in a flimsy plastic bag. No impact protection from cardboard or polystyrene - just a bag.I plugged in the unit & switched it on.....You can guess it - nothing happened.I'm an electrician, so thought the lamps had probably just become disconnected from the lampholders so I switched the unit off & unplugged it.I opened the protective grate to get to the lamps and got an almighty shock from the unit.I swore, checked the lamp connections and then tried turning it on again. No light, nothing. nada absolutely zilch.I disconnected it again double checked the lamps again & got another belt. This product is dangerous, DO NOT BUY IT. I am so furious. If I were an elderly person it could have killed me.AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Flying insect killer, built to last and very reasonably priced to save our sanity.
Every year we have a terrible problem with flies multiplying in our kitchen and making a mess on the walls and ceiling. On top of that, they drive our dog absolutely mad and he tries chasing and snapping at them until he gets really frustrated and then starts barking. We had a really small and basic indoor fly killer before and it did work but it wasn't getting rid of the problem completely and the light had become very dim.I decided it was time to try something new and went with this much more serious looking machine. The design is a tried and trusted one that is very familiar to most people. There are two options for using this. Place it on a flat surface (the feet are extremely stable) or assemble the chain and attach it using your initiative to hang it.We didn't have a flat surface high or out of the way enough to be able to sit it down. So, the chain was assembled and it was hung in the place of our old one. We have a four year old Daughter and even though the bars are narrow enough that she could not poke her fingers through, we didn't want her messing around with it anyway.First observation was that the power cable comes out of one side of the unit. This wouldn't be a problem for everyone, but it was for us because it means that whilst the unit is hanging, it is not sitting level and looks a bit messy. It would have been better if the power cable came out centre back bottom instead. Not perfect, but still confident it would do the job.Left it on overnight and by morning it had become the insect terminator. I was shocked to find many moths as well as flies zapped and hadn't realised until then that we even had moths in the house. The blue light produced by the insect zapper is extremely bright and therefore wouldn't be suitable for a bedroom but definitely fine in a kitchen or lounge. Another sign of its power is how loud it is when something gets zapped, it's like the cannon going off in hunger games on a smaller scale and makes us (including the dogs) jump.Left it on during the day. Came back to find it had killed a wasp and a bee. This is a killing machine! To tell you how effective this is, we don't have a fly or moth problem any more.Something to be aware but not concerned with is that the top left and right corners of the unit get quite hot, due to the way that it is designed and the heat from the lights. It's best to make up the chain and attach it if you plan to pick it up and move the unit around after use to avoid any potential burns. It comes with a plastic removable tray that is supposed to catch all the dead insects that get zapped. In reality, insects end up everywhere (particularly if the zapper is suspended) so expect to be picking them up from other places below too. This isn't a design fault, it's simply due to physics. As this has sorted out our problem, we are extremely happy with the unit and are confident that it will continue to reliably get rid of our pests for a long time to come.If you found my review helpful, please remember to let me know.

KIlls flies!
Lightweight, electronic control for high voltage grid and lamps. on/off switch. Fiddly to change lamps that did not last long (a few weeks) as need to dismantle one side of the HV grid - do not lose the screws! For the price it is good value

Does the job!
Bought the 20w version. Killing bluebottle infestation caused by a dead rat! 🤮It has killed 5 of the little flying critters in the first hour! No more running around with a fly spray and a Hoover or yelling at my partner to stop squashing them against our freshly painted walls whilst shouting expletives (as though the bluebottles can hear him). It may even save our relationship. 😃Ours is in the porch. It doubles up as superb entertainment as it produces a very loud crack each time a fly hits it. Hilarious watching everyone entering the house jump out their skin!Well worthy of the 5 stars.

Great while it worked....
All I can say is that it did a great job for the 6 weeks from purchase, then all of a sudden it stopped working. I'm no electrician but it looks like one of the tubes has blown. Not what I expected at all - let's see if the customer service team is up to scratch

Fly zapper
This is the fourth unit that I have bought, 1 for the yard canteen, 1 for the office canteen, 1 for the site canteen and 1 for home. They are a good size and work reeaally well.. I don't tend to leave my home or office one on all the time just when I see a fly.

Didn’t last long, less than 2 months
I bought this bug zapper on the recommendation of a family member. I thought as it was mid price range it would last.So it does zap bugs, very noisy when it does. The bulb burnt out in j on was than 2 months and as they are glued in cannot be replaced.I have had small/cheap bug zappers from low cost super markets that have lasted a few years. Not worth the money.
