Not just an afterthought - Brilliant in its own right
Passenger seemed a little coy about this release, positioning it almost as a kind of scoop up of things he had left over from the last album. However it is so much more than that. As with all of his work, the lyrics take a short while to filter into your soul but before long you'll find yourself humming them at quiet moments of the day and smiling to yourself - beware this can make people stare at you oddly. Mike Rosenberg has to be one of the nicest, most unassuming and generous individuals working in the music business. He is a brilliant song writer and musician with a unique style that makes him stand out from the crowd. If you ever get the chance to see him live, take it and you'll understand what I mean.

Wanted this in Alaska, so had to order from UK, and worth it.
This was worth every dime that it cost me to have it shipped to Alaska. I was "introduced" to the music of Passenger with a cut from a previous album that was available on Prime. That same prime playlist forced me to spend way to much money on new to me music. No way I can see to get anyone to deal with this. very, very disappointing. This album was not available on Amazon US except from a 3rd party seller wanting £42. So I ordered it direct. Now a portion is available as an MP3 download, but not even the full album.A beautiful mix of Passenger's styles and worth the wait.

Magnificent, heart-felt music.
Mike Rosenberg, you are simply wonderful! Great lyrics that will have you smiling one moment, and teary-eyed the next. Terrific guitar and production.Hey, if any of you ever have the chance to see Passenger in concert, don't miss it. He's a really class act that appreciates his audience. If you at all like this style of music (and get past the references to cigarette smoking), then you will love Mike Rosenberg/Passenger.By the way, he is donating ALL profits from this CD to charity as a thank you for his new-found success. You go, dude!P.S. read the liner notes...and bring a tissue.

Never underestimate the power of music to move you.
This album is simply brilliant and every track tells a story.Mike's guitar style sound deceptively simple, but he is a accomplished musician as well.Having just turned 65 myself, I am amazed at the depth of feeling and understanding from someone so young, even on the early albums. One weird thing though is that having ripped the second cd to my mp3 player the track list shows up as the six acoustic tracks from the previous deluxe Whispers album but that slight inconvenience is nowhere near enough to knock a star off for!

Whispers II highly recommended
Passenger is a highly gifted songwriter/musician who should be more widely appreciated. The Whispers 2 album is full of inspired songs expressing emotions that can only be appropriately communicated through music. With a range of songs which take the listener through vaguely haunting to relentless optimism and burgeoning wisdom - this album further cements Passenger's place as a leading artistic light of this generation. If artists are supposed to measure the distance from reality to idealism, Passenger is helping to chart this course.

Good for the soul
Genius music from a master storyteller... and every penny of profit going to charity. Love this man, his music, love getting lost in his stories and now I love his great big heart too. If you're a Passenger fan, you'll adore it. If you're not a fan (yet) but you love good music with a tale to tell and a beautiful voice to sooth the soul, give it a go - you won't regret it.

A real gem
Hugely underrated musician! Lyrics with true meaning is rare now but mike manages it on track after track. You can trully feel the stories and lives that he sings about, real meaning and heart puts every track above so many other hit songs that get played day after day by people. Then you see the real package of the box set, the story book styling is ideal for the songs, and its been exectued perfectly

A truly excellent album, one of those that appears to be a bit "nothingy" (or maybe understated is a better word) on first listen, but rewards repeated listening.Outstanding, understated lyrics that have a way of saying things you perhaps felt and couldn't find the right words for. It's become one of those albums you play repeatedly, to the exclusion of all else, thank goodness for headphones!
