Gentian Violet

This old time proven anti-fungal medicine works were others fail. I have used it for 50+ years to safely clear up skin cuts that would not close up on its own. Just allow time for it to dry before you put clothing over it or get in a tub as it will stain surfaces. I will never be without it. 3 bottles will last 5+ years. Keep it in a recycled jar with a lid to prevent spilling and gassing off.

Good product reasonable works as described

I bought these to make the "Purple Ear Wash" (google it) for dogs. Alcohol, Gentian Violet and boric acid powder. Simple to use and very cost effective to make yourself but you can buy it premade, here, on Amazon if you prefer for a much higher price, I have a black Labrador who has had non stop ear infections for her entire life. She has had many vet visits, cleaners and creams, allergy pills, as well as dietary changes with nothing seeming to help for very long and sometimes not at all. It always comes back. Well, now we have moved to a different state that is much more humid, more often than where will lived before and this has exacerbated the problem. In my effort to help her, I recently happened upon a Labrador website where someone posted the recipe for this Purple Ear wash and decided to give it a try, So far, so good. I have been just using cotton balls soaked in the solution to clean out her ears instead of pouring the solution in her ears like the directions stated because I have done that before (with other things) and liquid seems to get trapped in her ears and takes months to disappear. Anyway... some parts of her ears are actually a healthy white color again... which I haven't seen in a long time. I don't expect miracles because she has had this problem for a decade. But I am very hopeful. As a side note, I decided to use this on my long standing on again/off again intertrigo (Ladies with large Ta-Ta's know what I am talking about lol). It has worked better than anything I have ever tried! This combined with Baza Antifungal Cream is a one-two punch. As for staining... I accidently left some of the solution in my marble sink overnight and had two big purple splotches that wouldn't wash off... I sprayed it with a bleach shower mold/mildew cleaner and let it sit for about 5 minutes and it came right off. I've also heard of people using plain rubbing alcohol and even hydrogen peroxide to remove purple stains, just depends on the surface that is stained. My point is although it does stain anything it touches, the stains usually can be removed. The better option is to be careful how you use it to eliminate/minimize staining in the first place. For example, if I ever do decide to pour the solution directly in her ear... this will definitely be done outside on our patio where she can shake her head and let it fly without fear of it staining the entire room LOL

Works well

I received the gentian Violet tonight at 5:00 p.m. and used it about 8:00 p.m. Say semi-vicious liquid and I didn't want to add the dropper top back into the bottle after painting my tongue with it. I poured out about 10 drops and then a tablespoon of water and swish that around and gargled for about 5 minutes. The remaining liquid that was left in the cup I dipped a q-tip in and brushed in any area that look like it didn't stain purple. I don't know why under my tongue is not purple and the back of my throat is not purple but I am pretty sure that is where a lot of the thrush is in my mouth I have been doing apple cider vinegar rinse baking soda rinse boric acid rinse since boric acids suppositories are very helpful vaginally if you have a bacteria and fungal issue. Changing toothbrush eating yogurt and drinking kefir daily taking chlorophyll drops and it is not getting better I need an antifungal probably from the doctor if this remedy does not work I have seen post after post about people saying that they've been on meds for months and the gentian violet helped more than prescription meds so I'm going to try this route for was about 10.75 for the two bottles My dog also has yeast in her ear and I'm going to dip the q-tip in her ear and wipe it around and hopefully it will kill the yeast bacteria in there. Has constant ear infections I have two pugs It is just her The male pug has no issue The female for whatever reason constantly has yeasty ears even though they're on a high protein homemade dog diet so we're going to see if the yeast clears that up I've also heard where people can use vaginally I've not sure if I'm going to try that route but if there's information you can find on it. Not sure what other remedies I can come up with but I will give an update whether this cleared up my throat and tongue issue with the thrush Should I check up before picture

I use this for my silver to dark grey hair, it helps keep the brassy yellow away, very strong, use 4-5 drops to a gallon of water and I use the water to rinse out my purples shampoo!! It’s so cost efficient compared to brand name purple items. This bottle will last for ever!

I was pleasantly surprised to find this product in the UK. Not many people have heard of it. This was a life saver when I was a child, we always had it in our first aid kit. A doctor prescribed it for my brothers mouth when he almost swallowed oven cleaner, so imagine the benefits... I now ordered for my daughter’s rash. Working wonders as always.

Excellent product. I actually use this to colour my hair, colour is vibrant for an entire month. Which compared to mainstream funky colour is awesome.
