Works great once you get used to each other.
Ecovacs Deebot N7 Model DN12This vac cleans well, is fast, fairly quiet and entertaining! Doesn’t bother my 7 year old golden retriever who hated the central vac noise. At first my rating went up and down as I saw what this could do and then had problems, which all have been resolved. Initially it seemed to clog often and I had to clean it frequently. This was probably because it cleaned where no vac had gone before. After the first two cleanings, things improved, now it can complete an entire cleaning cycle before it returns to the charging dock and needs attention. Cleaning is simple: remove dust bin and dump, brush off dust filter, then turn it over (she always complains “I am suspended”) remove rotary brush and snip off dog hairs which have wrapped neatly around the brush in two designated spots. Takes two minutes and she’s ready to go.The lidar maps the room, but it took a few tries the first time. Don’t give up. Once she learns the map things get really smooth. Vacuums over a fluffy bath rug. My floor is hardwood, area rugs, some carpeted areas and tile. It only occasionally gets stuck under a chair that I has legs spaced exactly the diameter of the unit. She will “find” things left under a bed and likes to eat usb cables, but mostly nothing causes any problems.Today I had her vacuum the lower level again after about a month and she completed the entire cycle in one run. On the main level she usually needs to recharge before automatically completing the run – 625 square feet according to her.She will get herself stuck in a small bathroom when she nudges the door against a hinge closer that cause the door to spring back. She maps the cleaning path and while usually a rectilinear pattern, recently she has done some diagonal cleaning! Its fascinating to look at the cleaning path as it snakes around the 5 legs of an office chair and wanders under tables and beds. One other problem: The vacuum starts cleaning automatically after a power failure, so if you’re not home, you may find her stuck somewhere or still cleaning when you return if the power came back on.Mopping: Tried it a couple of times but its just wiping with water. A number of disposable pads are included but I haven’t used it that much. Sometimes the pad works loose. Automatically avoids carpets.Price: a great vac in the $300 range. No need to spend more unless you want automatic bin emptying. In my case, I must snip off the dog hair anyway and dumping the bin takes 20 seconds. The app is great and works well. She can notify you if she gets stuck, etc.I’m still giving 5 stars since I don’t vacuum anymore. Oops got to go. I left a sock on the floor….

I would buy two if my floors upstairs didn’t need special soap!
The media could not be loaded. For size comparison I had this next to the rumba 650. It’s a little wider which only means that it covers more for area hazards moving along. it’s actually about a quarter inch shorter which means they could probably fit under more furniture. I’m actually surprised how well the mopping function works. it comes with a few throwaway disposable pads one washable which is great we haven’t dug into the disposable ones just yet but we really like the reusable one. The vacuum function is phenomenal. it almost vacuums better than my Dyson or handhelds. The app took a little bit of learning but it truly is a smart vacuum. You can program it for sections of rooms or entire rooms to mop or mop and vacuum which is easy to do and once it’s done you don’t have to mess again.Clean out of either remaining water or debris that the vacuum picks up is a breeze. I know this is very common on vacuums but having the outside sweepers on both sides of the vacuum is a great design.Overall very happy with this if I didn’t have to use a special soap on my upstairs I will probably buy two.I hope this was helpful.

Battery, not the best. Bumper malfunction!
Battery charging time, about 4 hours! The battery only last about100 min. Got the robot, and I was impressed on how well it cleaned, until the third day, stopped working. Got error message saying that the "bumper got stuck" and the robot will only move backwards. Contacted Amazon and they are sending me a mew robot. I hope this one works, if not I am changing brands.UpdateGot a replacement, the main brush stopped working as already, after one month of using it. This is a bad product, don't buy it.

Great product/ needs a little improvement
This is my 2nd Ecovac. I did alot of research before buying the N7 model. Suction is GREAT. I Love that it self increases power when going from hardwood to carpet. Only have 2 negative remarks. 1-- difficult to find replacement brushes, filters and pads. My old model was much easier to find a good deal on new parts. Hopefully this one will be as easy soon. 2nd-- the app to control it could DEFINITELY use an upgrade. It does a great job of mapping out your house. Just wish it had more user control for specific "spot" cleaning without having to digital blocks

Great when it works
I’ve had this for 5 months now, mostly using it for the vacuum. I have a love/hate relationship with this thing. When it works, it’s great but for something that’s supposed to be smart, it sure is dumb. I recently moved to a 2200 sqft home and it took me about a week to setup a new map. Why that long you ask? Because it keeps getting stuck on EVERYTHING! Trust me, it’s become a routine that before I leave the house, anything on the floor gets picked up to prevent this yet it still happens. After finally getting it to map, which took over 3 cycles by the way. I’ve notice battery drains significantly the more you use it. A 7 min run goes from 100 to 93% on normal suction. The pro to this, it pauses and starts where you left off. The cons, if it gets stuck, you correct it and it restarts the map. Speaking of maps, sometimes like this morning I selected the area that I want. It starts and I can see the progress on the app and it’s cleaning a completely different map that I don’t recognize and I only have one. Also, when you select one area of a map you want to clean, it just won’t stay in that same spot it would randomly go off cleaning on its own. I don’t know if is the vac or the app. The app also sometimes glitches and times me out. Pros: Suctions well, picks up a lot of debris. Cons: The app and not always accurate.
