The eggbeaters are the lightest mountain bike pedals in the world. The eggbeater 2 is a minimal and lightweight pedal for XC and trail riding. They are designed with a 4 sided entry and are superior at mud shedding. They are built with customizable float and Release angle while the 52mm q-factor allows for maneuverability on tight trails. 5 year warranty.

A great pedal - period.
I love these - strong, light and easy to engage/disengage.The clips they use are minimal as well.Neither the pedal or the clip get fouled with dirt/gravel/mud/iceCan be rebuilt easily and for low cost with a rebuild kit (by Crank Bro's)Only negative is they don't do well with pedal strikes on rocks (but then what does)Consider the crank brothers Candy or Mallets if your shoe has a more flexible sole, they have more area to catch the ball of your foot.

Good with one annoyance that may be a benefit for you.
I have used the Time Atac Carbon in the past and loved them. These were cheaper and a few grams lighter so I decided to try them. So far they are working well. There is one thing that I do not like, but it may be great for some, they are super easy to get out of. I have not had an issue while riding, but you just pop out when you stop if you are not careful. I have switched the cleat to minimize this and it helped, but you will still have to be careful when stopping and then going again to make sure you are still clipped in. Other than that they have been fine. I only have about 50 miles on them so far so the jury is still out on how they will last. I've ridden all kinds of terrain and they seem to be great in anything.

Much easier when compared to SPD
Have only put about 50 miles on these, but so far they are working great on my cyclocross bike. For comparison I have been biking with SPDs for mountain and Look Keo's on my road. In my experience I do get a click noise when clipping in and have a nice secure upstroke. They are ridiculously easy to clip out of. I will replace my SPDs on my mountain bike too and get these for my wife for her cross bike.I just use them recreationally on the road, trails, and over grass and hard-packed trails.

Very light with an incredible minimalist design which I really like. They shed mud really well and are by far the easiest pedals to clip out of I've ever owned. However, I am still having a difficult time clipping in, and sometimes on 50k + rides with a lot of climbs I get a hot spot on the ball of my feet even though I've attached the crank brothers bicycle shoe shield. Overall, the jury is still out for me on these.

totally biased review, love these pedals
Can't say enough good things about Crank Bros. Eggbeaters. After years of resisting for no good reason i can recall, i jumped in and switched over my bikes to use the Crank Bros. models. I'm not riding to the level where i need the superlight titanium models, but i like the cost of these '3's' when they go on sale. If you take care of them they are almost no maintenance. I just refreshed my original pair after 5 years on my good weather commuter. Highly recommend these pedals.

Eggbeaters work for me!
Great pedals! Bought these for my brand new Bacchetta Carbon Aero 2. Have used Eggbeaters on 7 bikes now, including my 4 recumbent bikes. Easy entry and release. Just the right amount of float. Always works. My oldest Eggbeaters are 12 years old and still going strong.

Having already been a long time user of the Eggbeater pedal platform, I fully expected these to meet my needs to equip a 3rd bike and that they did. I like this pedal's internal configuration more than the lower spec versions. Meaning that this model has a needle bearing instead of a plain bearing on one of its two locations. This, I find, is a better and ultimately quieter running configuration.

Ottimi!!
