Not exactly as advertised
Works OK if you know how to set it up on your own. Lots of inaccuracies in the manual. But, features that appear in the Data Sheet and/or Manual do not appear to exist in the actual product. The manual says you can set the time via an NTP server, but the feature does not appear to exist in the actual product. At least not in the one I got. The Data Sheet says there is a firewall, but again it does not appear to exist. The manual also describes a Parental Controls feature which doesn't appear to exist. I contacted D-Link tech support and the response I got was somewhat amazing. They said that if I couldn't find the features shown in the manual or data sheet, then those features don't exist and that I should not ask them again. Really. I don't think I'll be buying any more D-Link products in the future. The only one of these features that I actually care about is the NTP Time feature, because I'd like the logs to have a useable time stamp. My router handles the other stuff anyway. But, I have to admit I found D-Link's response to my inquiry absolutely shocking.

EASY AS PIE!!!
I read other reviews on this modem and I was leery about getting it since many people were so annoyed by how technical it could get to setup this modem and lots of compatibility issues. I was not worried about the technical issues since I work in an IT job. The compatibility was my worry but, I gave the modem a try anyways and I am glad that I did.You open the box up, you hook it up like your old one but you have to hook a computer directly to it first to complete the setup. You tap into the modem's web wizard, you hit the auto detect and it looks for the DSL signal, once it finds it, it will change its settings to match the incoming signal and the wizard is done with a success screen. That is it!!!! I could not believe it, I was done in just 6 minutes and that included the time it took to open the shrink wrap and hook the modem up. Of course I was prepared after reading all of the forums and such because I was afraid after reading about all the nightmares others were having with the setup. I tell you what, it was so easy even a caveman can do it!!! The instructions in the manual for the more advanced items were even simple to follow in plain English, not like the manuals that I am use to reading.I don't know about the other carriers but, I have Verizon DSL hi speed service and it was one of the mentioned issue Internet service providers in a couple of forums. It detected everything just fine and I have not had issue with anything since I installed it a few weeks ago. If you are having issues like I did with Verizon's crap modems, I recommend you get this one as a replacement.

Three Stars
Older model than my Verizon D-link modem. Works o.k.

Worked half way
This item did not work with my ISP, Hawaiian Tel. The Wizard seemed to pick up the right settings, but it was not receiving an IP address. Hawaiian Tel was unwilling to help me figure out what I needed to tweak on the modem to fix the problem. I ultimately had to return the modem and go back to Westell modem provided me.FYI: The Westell Modem provided to me by my ISP has a complicated firewall syntax, which is the reason I bought the Dlink modem.

Great price and performance..Prickly setup
Bought this item refurbished. Smaller than I anticipated, this device has effortlessly ran my high speed DSL connection up until now. However, setup within the modem and making it copacetic with the DSL provider proved to be very unintuitive and frustrating. After several hours I finally figured it out. The documenation covers most points, but never felt complete at all.

Amazon ad doesn't tell you it has no warranty or factory support unless you pay.
After I had purchased and installed this modem and had problems with about half of the websites not loading, I called D-Link support and found out it is a "end of life" product per D-Link and has no product support and is not warranted. The only support available is through their "premium" support. Very expensive. D-Link support is a waste of time. I re-installed my Frontier Modem and along with my new router, everything is working great. I just hope that I can return it since I already installed it. Additional note about D-Link support, the first time I called and told the tech about not being able to get on the Amazon website, she told me it must be a problem with the Amazon site itself. I kind of chuckled about that because if that were the case, I think it would have made the national news.

Highly recommend
I bought this modem to replace a Motorola 2210 that required an ice pack to operate, and failed one day after I ordered the D-Link modem. Installation was fairly straightforward, although it took a couple days to get used to the advanced menus of the modem. This modem is more reliable than the 2210 was, and my speeds are almost 1,000 Kbps faster. The "internet" status light (rightmost light, beside "DSL-2320B") quit working, but that has no effect on the operation of the modem. Overall, I would recommend this modem to anyone.
