Purchased this after our previous steamer of many years no longer worked. As happens, these types of products seem to fail the day you need them for some event, or party after it has been sitting on a shelf for some time. Purchased this based on the fact that my experience has been the higher the wattage, the better these types of steamers seem to function. Although this unit was almost double in price than the one purchased years ago it replaces, functionally it is light years ahead in the performance area. Pull out of box, attach one of the diffuser type heads, fill with water. Turn on and selected Turbo mode. Blue power light blinks until ready then solid, and good to go. Once the steamer gets primed, big steam, consistant pattern, and you are off. Steamed a party dress in 5 minutes and looked amazing. Went through one tank of water. Cord is super long which is appreciated, and has a velcro strap to coil it up with to put away. Key is make sure to drain the tank on these when you store them- have a feeling that was what killed my last one as I did not run the water out before I put it away for a year. I think this is worth the price premium, looks great, feels solid in hand, and TONS of steam. Also like the multiple head attachments that I did not use, but may find a use for in the future. Will see how long it holds up, but again I use this type of product perhaps 3 times a year. Would definately purchase again.

Rowenta never disappoints with high level of performance and build quality. Best steamer in the market in my opinion, my family's favorite. Unfortunately, the specification listed the unit as 230v but the unit is actually 110-120v. Fortunately I have a step down transformer that has the capacity to support the unit. Other than that, all is well.

I have owned several steamers from hand held travel size up to a full size garment steamer that rolls on wheels. The Rowenta X-cel Steamer is hands down the best one I've tried. Just unbound it and within 5 minutes I had the steamer going and completed steaming a sweater and pants that were very wrinkled from storage. This steamer h a d no problems getting rid of the wrinkles and I had plenty of steam to complete the job. Steamer was easy to fill, easy to use, and lightweight even with a full tank of water. This steamer even beat out costlier steamer I've tried. Well worth the ptice.

I have purchased many steamers and this beats them all. The Rowenta is well built. Not as load as the others. Steam is powerfull. The cord is long. The only downside is, I felt it needed rubber backing on the bottom to keep from sliding off the counter. Would definitely recommend it to replace your iron.

I really wanted to like this steamer, but after using it a few times, I wish I had bought a different one. The shape of the water dispenser is so wide that I struggle to remove the container to fill it. Once it’s filled and I press the power button, it’s unclear when the steamer is actually ready to use.I also find it heavy, requiring me to constantly switch hands. The hold button—which lets you steam without holding the trigger—is poorly positioned. My hand has accidentally disengaged it multiple times during a single session.Even turning the steamer off is confusing; pressing the power button doesn’t clearly indicate whether it’s shut down. I don’t expect products to be perfect, but this steamer has too many flaws to ignore. I wish I could return it but I’m now past the return window.

I bought some long curtains on a tight budget, knowing there would be some consequences in the quality. They were SO wrinkled and when I tried to iron them it didn't help AT ALL and I was afraid I was making them worse. I ordered this steamer, knowing I could use it for other things as well, so, not a bad investment. OH MY GOODNESS!!! One of the best shopping decisions I have ever made!! These curtains look expensive now, and I couldn't be happier! The steamer is NOTHING like others I have bought in the past. Not too heavy, heats FAST, did what it's supposed to do and a Rowena Product, which I have never had regrets with. It was listed as a long cord, but, I did have to use an extension. In fairness though, I was hanging curtains on a very large wall of windows. So ordinarily, the cord probably would have been plenty long enough.

I got this Rowenta steamer after the other one I had of a different brand broke before I had it for a year. I really like how fast this steamer heats up and how quickly it steams out the wrinkles on my clothes!! The steam trigger is a really nice feature especially when you have to adjust the position of your clothes. The only negative thing about this steamer is that the water tank is a bit small but it's easy to refill. My Brother recommended this model to me. I couldn't be happier with this Rowenta steamer! I would definitely give this 5 stars and recommend it to anyone!
