Great item must know electricity not for dummies with that said very easy to install easy install perfect fit .... hopefully it saves my electronics if we get a surge

It's connected and on. I won't know if it doesn't work until I get a surge that fries my HVAC ; ). For now, it's on an, I assume protecting against a surge.

This surge supressing outlet is a great idea. It allowed me to install my television on the wall without mounting additional items (namely a surge suprresor), keeping the installation very tight to the wall. It went in easily using a recessed outlet box and gives me a great deal of confidence my electronic components will be safe from damage. The outlet is even designed to be installed with the ground facing up for safety. Nicely done. The four stars comes from the value proposition of this device. I think $31 (as of Jun 2011) is a lot to pay for what is basically a 2-outlet surge supressor. I understand there are issues of economy of scale here (probably not too many takers on this item) but still feel that this is a high price to pay. However, it does its job.

I've installed a number of these in my house to protect all our electronics. They are no more difficult to install than a regular outlet and prevents us from having extra cords from typical surge suppressors.

Great quality as expected. Have installed these at every TV, PC, microwave, refrigerator, etc in my home and looking forward to purchasing more as needs arise.

I purchased this for an outlet behind a dresser on the only wall in a bedroom convenient for a flat screen TV. It would have been more cumbersome and unsightly to use a power surge strip. And, using a plug-in, single or multiple surge protector would have extended the dresser away from the wall further, plus adding additional distance when the TV and satellite receiver was plugged into that. The surge protection is rated at 720 Joules (from Leviton's website) and is not stated on the box or in the enclosed product use instructions. It's surge protection usefulness is stated as 10 years, OR, as long as the green light on the face of the outlet is ON. If the green light is no longer visible, there is no surge protection. However, power to the outlet is still on but should be replaced to guarantee surge protection. On my installation, I can see the green light from the side of the dresser, for more difficult areas to see, there is an outlet with an audible alarm, but twice the cost. The 15 Amp model for use with 14 gauge wire, can be stripped to push into the connections on the back, and it can be wired to power downline outlets in the circuit. There's also a Tamper Proof model that has the letter "T" in front of the model number if small children become curious, like to the green light.

Very easy to install. Fits within standard wall boxes with no issues. I like the straight in the back connection option for those who don't want to bend the wire around a screw terminal. I won't give it five stars yet, I don't know if it truly protects against surges yet.

As a bonus, it will give additional limited protection for all the outlets/devices on that circuit breaker.

I’ve had my fridge and my washing machine both fried due to power surges. I’ve replaced the plugs for both units with these surge protectors. They do stick out a tiny bit from the wall but it’s no problem for my applications.

Très belle finition éclatant comme ma prise la seule chose que j'ai a dire c'est que j'aurais aimer qu'elle soit plus rigide et qu'elle soit appliquée entre le mur et la prise ça éliminerais les ajustements de profondeur de la prise avec la plaque.merci
