Expandable Corded/Cordless Phone System with Answering Machine and One Touch Call Blocking – 1 Handset - KX-TGB850B (Black)

The phones have been working great since we purchased them.

Purchased in July, therefore under warranty. In September, sound quality became so poor, neither phone calls nor answer machine recordings could be understood. The phone line for customer service is always busy and, when trying chat, was transferred to some outfit who , first of all, wanted money (maybe refundable, they said). I have gone back to my 20 year old AT&T phones. The sound quality is excellent and I shall never buy another Panasonic product.

GREAT QUALITY AND EASY TO SET UP. GOOD VALUE FOR THE PRICE. VOLUME CONTROL ON RECEIVER IS NOT LOUD ENOUGH FOR MY 82 YEAR OLD MOTHER. OTHER THAN THAT IT IS A GREAT PHONE / ANSWERING MACHINE.

I wanted caller ID and message recording, and both seem fine on initial testing. Simple LCD menus have made sense so far. Having a remote handset and add-ability were more than I needed, but round it out nicely. Landline is rarely used, so may never have much more to say: seems like classic, inexpensive, old-school quality honed by time, next step up from a princess wall-mountable phone.

I ordered this phone for my elderly mother, to replace an older phone that died. Sound quality was fair, instructions were okay (although everything seems to be more complicated than it needs to be -- they make products that are supposed to do 50 different things, when you really just need it to do 2 or 3 things well). However, after a couple of months the phone stopped recording voicemails, although it was still telling callers to leave a message. And people who called didn't get to hear the personal message we recorded -- it would only play the generic pre-recorded "leave a message" voice. Even though it would play our message in "test" mode on the base unit, when someone called they got the generic message. We couldn't even change it to the generic "call back later" message -- callers would still be told to leave a message even though the unit would not record any voicemails at all. By the time I realized it was a worthless piece of junk, the return window has closed.

I do not like the fact that the factory voice for voicemail - is a British person. No option to fix that unless you leave a personal voicemail message....... I do not like the fact that blocking is more of a pain, than it describes - unless, you do not answer the call - and hit block. Which means, you don't know whom you are blocking, truly. I like the visual of the two sets. I like the fact voicemail is built in. For my purposes, it simply doesn't do, what I was expecting. I will save it for someone who is desperate for a phone. Will change back to my old system shortly. Purchase truly depends, on what you are looking for. I recommend finding the manual to it - and make sure it is exactly what you are looking for. Nice set, but not for my needs.

Phone fabrication was of good quality, easy to use, and operates very well.

Does it all. Hand held feature useful when away from desk, can be programmed with a different call sound and call blocking. Separate charging base can allow storing it in another room (BR?, Laundry room?) away from main phone. Answering recorder features lady's voice with English accent. I would definitely recommend anyone use this phone for home or office use and would make a great gift.

I bought this phone for a friend who has a disability with her hands. It's easy to program and she loves the size of the buttons.

Excelente producto, muy útil para las personas de la tercera edad ya que la pantalla tiene letras y números grandes. Esta perfecto porque puedes tener el principal en la sala y el inalambrico en una recámara.

Not easy to install and setup. Difficult to enter names into phone book, couldn't find apostrophe, when looking for a letter or number if your slow the damn system shuts down and you have to start that entry from beginning. There were lots of other issues I found, this system is not user friendly especially for seniors who are not tech savvy. I just gave up entering my address book. Call display does not show the name of who's calling or area code, so confusing. What ever happened to the old fashion ring tone and jt 2ould be nice to set number of rings to a higher number, I'm anxold man with bad knees and can't walk fast enough to get to the phone in time. They say for seniors, only seniors who are healthy and tech Savvy.

This is the first time we had to return a “used” item. Cordless handset was scuffed and batteries looked very old. Put them in and put the phone on the charger, it says insert batteries. They were inserted right. We tried two aaa’s as we know that would work in a pinch, handset said the same thing. So had to return this item. It clearly wasn’t checked at all.

El teléfono esta hecho con buenos materiales y tiene buenos acabados. El funcionamiento cumple. Le falta algo de calidad al audio. No se oye mal, pero tampoco es de lo mejor. La pantalla adecuada.
