I was looking for a "scarf like thing" to go with a windbreaker/rain jacket I own without a hood. I think this is a great idea. One problem however is that it's quite long. I'm average height and my jacket isn't short, but the ends of the scarf stick out a couple inches below the jacket hem. This scarf is also heavy, and surprisingly bulky, even without anything in the little zipper pockets. My jacket is packable -- this scarf is bigger and heavier than the jacket. But even if I was willing to live with a long heavy scarf, like for under a coat, the hood itself doesn't cover the head all the way. It isn't deep enough to make a short bill over bangs... not like a regular sewn-in hood on a jacket. So great idea! But it needs improvement. Lighter, with shorter legs, and deeper so the hood covers the head better.

I like the look of the scarf and the pockets but the hood doesn't fit on my head. My teen tried it as well with no luck. If you have thick or curly hair, this probably isn't the scarf for you.
