what is the size of the brew basket

The size of the basket uses a number for cone filter

I have a kbg. the brew basket for the kbg only brews full pots. will this one let me do a half pot of coffee? will it work with kbg?

What makes you think a KBG only brews full pots? You put the amount of ground coffee you need in the filter basket and the appropriate amount of water you need in the reservoir and you can brew any amount of coffee you want. When you pull the KBG jug out from under its filter basket the valve closes to stop the drip. KBG basket has a rectangular bottom; KB basket has a round base. The brackets upon which the baskets sit are therefore different.

Is this brew basket recyclable?

Recycle code 5 is shown on the bottom of the basket and can be recycled in my area however you need to check with your area recycling options. If your area does not accept code 5 there are places that will recycle them but you would have to mail it to them. If you google who accepts code 5 in your area you will see your options. Sorry I cannot be more specific without more information.
