Go-To sticks
My son takes drum lessons with a mainstream music school. Part of their program is to build confidence and get the kids to perform live on a stage at local venues every few months. He still gets a bit nervous and mentions his hands sweat (I secretly worried about him accidentally flinging the sticks). I did some searching and saw mostly grip-tape products, and was concerned that wrapping the sticks with tape may add thickness and weight and throw his playing off a bit. Then I found these and since they had good reviews, I picked him up a pair to try. I wanted to make sure his teacher was ok with these or possibly give a reason why they weren't a good idea, but was pleased when he exclaimed "oh those are what I use when I perform!" That was a good sign. My son's been using these about 6 months for both practice and performing, with good results. To avoid having to adapt to different sticks, he decided to use them as his everyday sticks. They are just slightly tacky when you first hold them but as your hand sweats, they actually grip better. Other than that they play and feel like any standard stick (5A in his case). After a few months the ends of the sticks do show wear from rim hits (he's still learning) but the playing and sound is not affected. The photo is after 6 months and shows wear from hitting the rim, but the grip area is still perfect. The actual tips do not have the coating and are bare wood. He has another live show coming up so I threw a new pair in his Christmas stocking to use for performances that don't look so beat up. He'll continue using his original pair and have a newer pair for shows. A few of his fellow drummers have brightly colored sticks just to be different and flashy. He's not a glamor kid, so the cool but serious black color fits him more while also providing the non-slip functionality. He's happy with these, so I can see them continuing to be his go-to sticks for some time.NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are too brief and don't support their opinions with examples. Writing useful reviews helps pay it forward.

Love these sticks
I needed some sticks and decided to try and different brand. These are so comfortable and gets the job done. The grip really doesn't work. They are durable as well. Last way longer than my last set. I plan on getting 4more sets. I also love the balance of the sticks.

No more flying sticks
I'm new to drumming. I have a pair of generic sticks and a pair of VF 5a sticks. The VF brand are very good but I have the ones without any coating. The Promark Activegrip Rebound 5A sticks are so easy to hold on to and I find the balance very nice. Again, I 'm new but I have a light grip on the sticks and the others were frequently flying out of my hands. I have noticed that the more I use the Promark Activegrips, the stickier they get. It seems like it should be the opposite. When I'm on the throne, these are the sticks I grab.

Metalhead Approved!
My best friend is a drummer and he swears by Promark; these were a gift for him and the heat reactive tackiness works as described.Great for any drummer, but especially metalheads like him who work up a sweat while playing!

Getting use to them, the sticky grip feels odd at first
Playing drums for 30+ years, never played with coated sticks so this was a new experience. At first I thought no way, they felt rubbery and tacky. I played on for a couple hours and they are pretty nice. They do not slip that's for sure, the coating is so thin it does not take away from the tone much at all, maybe a little soft on the rimshot. We'll see how long they hold up, I can see why some people complain of getting blisters, depending on your style. Oh and the 5B feels just like a non coated 5B

Great feeling sticks
I'm on the worship team at church and although I'm in a fully enclosed cage, I still prefer to use a lighter stick so as not to overpower the other instruments. It allows me to play harder, which is satisfying, but not to blow everyone out. I previously used the Zildjian dipped sticks and loved them. I went to re-order and they were sold out, so I saw these and gave them a try. WOW is all I can say. The grip is equal, if not better, than the Zildjians and they seem to be more solid and pack more punch. They're perfectly balanced and just feel great in my hands. I'm so glad I tried something new and these do the trick.
