NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP First Base Primer Spray, Vegan Face Primer

I thought I'd never spray my face with anything, but this is actually refreshing. It competes with the NYX Miracle Veil tube primer (which is also an awesome primer). But this wakes you up a bit and does the trick, covers eyelids for eye makeup and covers eyebrows without having to rub greasy gunk primer into them. This has no scent and feels cool when it primes. I like it a lot!

I definitely like the spray form of a primer. This one has no annoying fragrance, works well as a primer, and does not make me break out. I started also using it as a setting spray for after my makeup is on. I am nowhere near halfway through the bottle, good value for the money!

Two drawbacks: one, it stings my eyes, so I have to be careful to wipe it away if it gets on my eye area when I spray it. I could probably spray into my hands like sunscreen and then apply with my hands, but that's annoying and kind of misses the point of why I bought a spray. Second thing, I find it slightly drying. No big deal, I just make sure to use moisturizer underneath of it and it's fine. Makeup stays matte most of the day, though, which is great. Overall a good product, just wish it didn't burn my eyes.

I bought this when initially looking at setting sprays, but had saw that NYX had this spray in a primer form, so I thought I would give it a try. As always with any brand, any type of product can be hit or miss depending on the person using it. I have combination skin that is a little bit oily in my t-zone and a bit more dry around my jaw/cheek area. I have tried many primers on my skin from drugstore brands to mid-high end brands exclusive to certain stores, and I do have my favorites among them, but I did like this specific one. I wasn't big on the idea of a primer being a spray, as I can't help but feel like I am wasting a bit of the product, but it does go on my face evenly with just 1-2 pumps. I gently tap my fingertips over my face to help with the process a bit. I don't like putting primer on heavily, so it gave me just enough coverage while feeling real light. It will give me that tacky feeling at first (which I honestly like from primers as I can't help but feel it keeps my foundation more in place), but after a few minutes, it dries to a more soft, matte-feeling type of base. Well, at least on my skin that's how it was. I applied my usual foundation, put some setting powder lightly around my t-zone, did a quick spritz of setting spray, and it went out to run a few errands to give a test. After about 3 hours, I checked in and didn't see any major problems that would have me deem this product a fail. Despite being in and out of the 85-degree temperature, my foundation was still in place. I didn't have any creasing, my pores were still in check, and my t-zone seemed to be way less shiny compared to using my other everyday primer with my foundation. So far, with my use, I've been pleased with it. I used it again this morning and haven't noticed any issues with it today, either. There's been no irritation from the product with my skin, haven't broke out from it, so that's a plus. I think I'll continue using this spray as my everyday primer for now, but it won't be the type of primer I'll use for special events.

I have been using this for a while and absolutely love it.Spray it on and let it dry to create a great base for your foundation.

So far this product is working good however I wouldn't say it is great as far as moisturizing. My face definitely feels drier after using this and letting it dry on my face for a minute or two. My skin is naturally oily so for me to put something on that makes my face feel dry is a little surprising. I gave "Moisturizing" 1 star because of that. Everything else about the product I would rate 5 star. I do think it works well as a base/primer replacement and will continue to use it every morning because in my opinion its more convenient to spray on vs taking the time to rub on a lotion based primer.

I don’t feel it moisturizes very well but as far as setting it definitely it great!! I’ve used this for a little over a year and it’s what keeps my makeup on best for a full day. Also I like to buy it on Amazon because it’s normally a few dollars more no matter what store I go to.

This stuff is awesome for me. I don’t need a moisturizing primer, but I do need uniform coverage. This product fits the bill. The fine spray ensures consistent coverage and my make makeup stays put. And the price is amazing!

Love this product! Great price as well. It's very lightweight, I don't even notice it after I apply my face. My makeup lasts longer throughout the whole day when I apply this first! Amazing! Doesn't make my skin oily or dry. Couldn't be happier!
