Amazing tasty deal for a buck, great for chip and dips, unique tormatillo flavor and color
I got it to try out a green salsa to use with chip and dip appetizers. Me and my friends love it, as it is that unique green color and tasty. You can taste the tormatillo tomato wonderful taste, and the mild chile pepper flavor, not hot, but leaving a slight spicy lingering in the mouth. Sometimes I spice it up more with red pepper flakes or jalapenos, depending on the friends and their tastes. You can sometimes taste the cilantro in it too, not too overwhelming, just a touch. I ended up reordering dozens of times, now, and even sometimes pour it over pasta for a tasty pasta dish and quick meal. It has a nice consistency you would expect from any salsa, not too watery, and doesn't have any ingredients I don't like to thicken it up like corn starch. And I like it doesn't have any added flavoring, just the food products with balanced flavor. And I like getting a big 7oz. can of it, for around 15 cent per oz, just enough for a few people to eat up at one party.

Perfect blend of tang and slight spice
This salsa verde is a perfect compliment to tacos, enchiladas and chile verde. Nice tangy and mild spiciness. Great for dipping chips in also!

I wouldn’t call it mild
I bought this on a whim and put some on top of a bland frozen Amy’s burrito. Now I had a tasty dish instead of a tasteless dish. I didn’t have any preconceived notions about salsa verde, so I can’t compare it to others, but I did grow tomatillos once and I remember that that they had a lot of water in them, so I wasn’t surprised that it wasn’t a thick sauce. I notice that water is not a listed ingredient, as it is for some other brands, so it seemed reasonable that a fresh-tasting seemingly minimally processed sauce would be a little watery. As for heat, I know it’s very subjective, and I also wonder if different batches differ. But I know that my mouth is still buzzing an hour later, and that it would be too hot for someone who never orders a dish with even one star next to it. I happen to enjoy reasonably hot food, so I liked this, but don’t expect it to be mild. Perhaps it’s considered mild compared to chile verde in general? I’m happy that I can buy a very small can, since I don’t use a lot at once. I plan on having it with some grilled chicken and using it up with scrambled eggs. I’m going to keep a can or two in the house and try it in soup, marinades, rice dishes… Note: Be aware that it may be a little crunchy from the tomatillo seeds, which is normal

great for canned salsa
I like to dump it over tamales. not too spicy, that's what the scorpion pepper hotsauce is for, but its quite tasty in it's own right.

Love the Herdez Salsa Verde, but packaging was disappointing
Love the Herdez Salsa Verde, but cans came shipped in a paper bag. All but one very dented, not what I have come to expect from Amazon.
