We used to get it along the side of the road, where and when we could stop. Some of the Stems are boards. I eat it anyway. Review: Great (in a sandwich) - Look NGL this shit taste like ass but my urologist says I need to eat them so I just slap a slice cheese and mayo on whole grain bread and line these bad boys out single-file. It's no BLT but I'm pissing like a race horse sponsored by Monster.

Cans arrived dented and the spears were in a bad way...when I opened the cans.

It's okay
If you don't have access to fresh asparagus this is good until you do. My local "Mom & Pop" grocery doesn't carry much fresh produce so I keep some canned on hand. This is probably as good as canned can get.

Uneatable.
I have bought these 4 packs of asparagus before and had no real problem. This last time, in each of the four cans, there were stems that were so hard that they could not be eaten. Maybe half of each can was usable. I doubt that I will ever trust this brand again.

Overcooked. High Sodium.
On my last trip to the Costco Warehouse store I spotted and picked up a four-pack of Green Giant Asparagus Spears in 15-ounce cans. upon opening the can I tasted the liquid. it was good, but too salty. I checked the sodium content. Sure enough, one small five-spear, 20-calorie serving would give 18% of the day's recommended sodium. Too much! The spears were good, but very overcooked. They almost fell apart upon removing them and many were the consistency of mush. I much prefer asparagus less cooked and almost a little crispy. I'll get through thee four cans without any difficulty, but I'll not repeat the purchase. Pity. I love asparagus. Gary Peterson
