I needed a method to install a USB port in a 2006 Prius when I upgraded the stereo to a Apple Carplay type. I chose the rectangular one with back clips as it seemed like the easiest install for my application. I used the user recommended cut dimensions to get the opening that was needed and installed it inside the arm rest. The hole was over cut slightly so I had to some some glue to help hold it in place (not a fault of the product, just took a bit too much off). The cord was long enough to reach back to the radio unit. The cable is not flimsy and was able to be routed through some difficult areas without tearing up. The connect has been solid with no issues.

This worked really well for me in 2022 Mazda CX30. The standard USB ports are in the small console - doesn’t work for me with my phone, I wanted one up front by my phone mount so CarPlay is easy. I made this one work without splicing - the panel in this model specifically came out easily and this was a dream.. i ran the USB and plugged it in directly back to the standard USB in the console. It works great , and CarPlay works great with my iPhone . Very happy!
